Yes!

The HOTT Twin Parks Country Club Clash is this weekend.

You can still sign up on Disc Nation (through tomorrow).

After that, we'll fill the cards so signing up in person on Friday could be an option (depends on the division).

I understand the 18 dollars that is listed in red on the flyer. So does that mean that each ADV player is playing for 45 per person? If son, that is a huge payout! IF not I would like to know what additional expenses will be deducted from my entry fee so I can get an idea on how much the purse will be in my division.

The only $ coming out of the total entry fee are the fees listed in red. Yes, that means payout for advanced divisions will be $45/person. That $45 is actually below what the PDGA suggests Advanced fees not exceed.
See 08 Tour Standards and Entry Fee Table here. (http://www.pdga.com/documents/2008/08TourStandards.pdf)

There might be an extra fee if you want to sleep on the tee boxes though :o

Dan, I tried to help out a friend that just opened a italian sub sandwich shop on 27th and Guadalope. The name of the place is Bambino's and its been open for less than a year. I asked for a 5$ sack lunch that would include a sub, chips, and a cookie. When I picked up the bagged lunches later learned that they were only 4" sandwiches when I thought I was getting 6" subs. It was to late. I will show you the receipt, I paid 313.00 for 59 lunches. That means he also taxed the lunch "deal". I had to sell the lunches at cost plus 50 cents more to cover the cost of gas from Dripping Springs to Austin back to Dripping Springs. It was the worst experience I have had with catering.

Don't you think for one second that I would ever try to make any money off you guys and gals because that is the last thing I ever want to do. I want my rep. to be the guy that makes nothing and gives everything and I thought everyone had that idea.

So, I never made a dime off your small lunches and I am real sorry that my friend ripped everyone off. Don't blame TPCC because it was I that set up the deal while trying to help out a friend starting a new business.

I want to make it clear that I lose money and put in a lot of sweat and blood for you guys for every tournament I have ever been involved in so don't put me down man! :( :( :(

[/QUOTE]

Yea, look at all the cool stuff you get. Its all put into what you get. Everyone in the AMs field gets what they pay for. Were talking 2 meals, massage theorpy, trophy cost which is 85$ (discounted from DiscNation) a piece. 3 Trophies times 85 is 255 dollars alone. The average field is going to be 10 people. Look at my breakdown and you will see why its going to cost so much. The player's pack is all considered in the entry fee and it is a fundraising event.

Now how is this funny again? I don't think you are looking at the logistics carefully enough.

Besides, I am just simpily asking what the breakdown of the entry fee is....what's wrong with that? Its my money and I want to know where it is going! So keep on laughing because we all know that you could never last 106 holes in one day anyways so....

The fact is, you have no experience! Just look at your tournament history! The only tournaments you have played are ones that people are making a living off of. Don't try and make a distinction on something that you have no evidence for and don't try to justify something that you can't back up. And just to let you in on something Scott, it is realistic to put forth hundreds of hours to put on an event and not make anything from it (anything meaning money) and it is called community service. This is something that you apparently have no experience on either.

There is nothing wrong making money as long as its your business or you are raising funds for a charity. I work for a good company and get paid enough to apply my time and efforts towards TDing events as community service, something you apparently have no experience in. So stop making false clams. My tournament history? I've been playing disc golf for 15 years. Just because I hadn't joined the PDGA until last year (when I moved to TX) doesn't mean jack. Believe it or not, in many parts of the country, most players are not in the PDGA. Yet in those places they still have tournaments ... well run tournaments. You are the person who got all defensive saying, "Don't you think for one second that I would ever try to make any money off you guys and gals because that is the last thing I ever want to do dont put me down." By saying that you are implying that somehow it is better to run a tourney and not make any money or that you are above reproach. That implication is completely false. There isn't anything wrong with running a tourney and turning a profit. There isn't anything wrong with running a tourney and not turning a profit. I have a well formed opinion, years in the making, from playing disc golf all over the US. Those that run tourneys without any financial gain don't last. The disc golf landscape is littered with TDs who have been burned out by putting in too many hours and not turning a profit, be it for a charity, for a club, for a business, or for themselves. Perhaps you should get your facts straight before commenting about me.

And just to let you in on something Scott, it is realistic to put forth hundreds of hours to put on an event and not make anything from it (anything meaning money) and it is called community service. This is something that you apparently have no experience on either.

My community service record speaks for itself. Ive putt in hundreds of hours at McClain and with the San Antonio Disc Club and with other clubs in other areas of the county. Again, perhaps you should get your facts straight before commenting about me.

There is nothing wrong making money as long as its your business or you are raising funds for a charity.

So its only OK to make money if its for charity or if its for your business, but if you are just a single person entrepreneur it isnt OK to make any money off a tourney? I think before you make an argument you should think it through and be able to back it up.

I work for a good company and get paid enough to apply my time and efforts towards TDing events as community service, something you apparently have no experience in.

I put in dozens of hours (if not hundreds) for the Bud Open without any personal gain. I run a mini every week without any personal gain. Im running a tourney this weekend with 100% of the funds going back to the players, none taken out for club or personal funds. In fact I donated $100 worth of my own plastic to the event. Im also putting in many many hours for the Bryan McClain open in October. Perhaps you should get your facts straight before commenting about me.

So stop making false clams. It you are going to make an argument, at least be able to back it up.

I guess that is kind of like giving advice to someone on how to get better when they are already better than you. (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=859762&an=0&page=0#Post8 66895)
Heres some free advice, move down. You arent good enough to play open. Consistently getting beat down by people better than you is bad for your psyche and will hinder your game. See Michelle Wie and Ty Tryon as two prime examples.

================================================== ==========
Let me apologize to all who had to read this extreme thread drift. I have mental defect that wont allow me not to respond when someone incorrectly questions me or makes absurd comments. Im working on getting over it, it isnt going so well.

The fact is, K is superior to C in almost every regard. The spinless, limp structure of the C is mocked by the solid foundation of K. Give me a K over a C-note anyday. And K can be used as one of the most versitile words in the English language, K MkKain?

People.....please don't wait too long to sign up for this. Just because it says there are a certain number of spots on Disc Nation (http://www.discnation.com) doesn't mean your division has that many spots. Divisions are capped at a certain number. We work closely with Disc Nation to be sure events are not over sold, and once a division fills, that division will be pulled from the Disc Nation website at TeamJustice's request. At that point, we will start a waiting list for each division that is pulled, and if spots become available, they are filled using that division's wait list. I feel the need to explain this to everyone since there have been complaints about not being able to sign up on-line even though the website says there are 23 spots left. Once a division fills, we have it pulled. If there are still spots listed as available on Disc Nation, they are for the divisions still listed there.
I hope that clarifies how things are handled.

Sign up TODAY on
Disc Nation (http://www.discnation.com) !

Man, I 've got more complaints than just my back, but I do appreciate the kindness of campers providing me lunch during the short break. It's the campsite with the Mexico flag, right? :p

Glad to hear things might get back to "normal" for you Suemac. I hope all our other Gulf side friends are working back to OK (thinking about you all). I should be out staffing for Oktoberfest since I torn my ankle up and won't be at the USDGC this year. Back in Texas, Baby!!

Handsome Tom wants to know what his start time is.
Talked with Metal today and he will not be making it out that weekend. :(So don't throw your favorite disc in on of the ponds. And no, I won't go in and get it for you.

Good Morning Team Justice. If we are unable to field an Adv. Mstr division how will that affect my qualifying for the HOTT TOUR finale? I am signed up but realize I may need to move to another division in order to play this weekend. By the way, I don't think Durham is going to be able to make it this weekend so like TIGER, I'mmmmm the only one.

take hwy 20 south off Bastrop Hwy (71) to 535, go left on 535 through Rockne, turn right on Watterson Rd (207), then left on John Craft, then left on Mueth Cemetery, Moody's is on the right.

The John Craft sign is kinda hard to see, but we will put out a sign to help folks out.

Dave is out there today....mowing. Make sure if you go out, to drop your $5 greens fee in the box, and if you can, find Dave & let him know you're there.

Just updated the list again.....a few additions & a couple of changes (nothing major, I think 1 guy & the FPOs got moved to 7 minutes later).

Thanks Patty, also is the tee box format still correct on your website, Int. playing red, white, green?

justice
Oct 02 2008, 12:01 PM
Yes, all AMs, except MA1, will play Red, then White, then Greens.

When we were out there last weekend, I noticed many of the flags had been mowed down. We'll be out there later today & will have everything re-flagged by tomorrow. Also, since you've never been there, the green tees basically play the course backwards & starts by playing to 16's basket from just past 18's basket & around the corner.

Don't forget about Doubles tomorrow!

Flex start....starting at 1pm.

For more details click on the players list link above & it will take you to the info page on our website.

See everyone out there!

In 06 you took 5th - no trophey - you must have seen 2002 Adv women - silly girl.

I only saw it being spelled with a c once & that was in 03 (prob when Mark Martyr threw it, not sure) & I haven't checked disc stamps, just the tournament results.

A BIG thank you goes out to the Moody family for letting us all come out and enjoy their place!

Another BIG thank you goes out to the staff....ZAM, Fish, Ed, Sheldon, Lala, Solo Vato.....you guys ROC!

Thirdly, but most importantly.....EVERYONE can thank the HOTT sponsors by giving them your business, joining their club, or playing their events. Without the support of sponsors like Disc Nation (http://www.discnation.com) , Millennium Golf Discs (http://www.golfdisc.com/) ,
New Belgium Brewing (http://www.newbelgium.com/) ,
Waterloooooooo (http://www.austindiscgolf.com) ,
Double R Disc Golf Club, Third Coast Disc Golf Club, Sister Sue Dye 4 U, ZAMdesign, Grimmley Kitty, The Legend, Proforma Marketing, EDGE, Father Dave's Friend, Des Reading, Riverside Disc Golf Club, Innova Champion Discs, and oh yeah....TeamJustice, Oktoberfest would not have been as awesome.

I'm working on several things today including getting the scores up & sending out the invites to the Final Bonus Qualifiers who qualified after playing Oktoberfest.

Solo Vato got Anthony Daman's C hole ACE on video.....SWEEEEEEET stuff!

Be sure to watch all of Solo Vato's HOTT coverage, and much more HERE. (http://www.youtube.com/user/DiscGolfEmpire)

I would like to say thanks to TeamJustice. I have enjoyed every HOTT Tourney I have been to. And this one was topped off with my first Ace ever! I am glad it was a HOTT tourney it happened at. Again. Thanks Patty / Mitch / And the rest of TeamJustice for a wonderful tourney. I look forward to the final where I can hopefully take down Zam and Bird once and for all. LOL. J/K
