I'm not sure what the problem might be. I was just able to go through the process myself without any problems. Also have received registrations all day without issue.
Speaking of which, the am side is full at 72 players. Wait list has begun...players can get on said list by going to the store site and clicking the waitlist link. Or by using this link directly (http://www.mainediscgolf.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=125)

I figured out the problem. My No Scripts extension was blocking Maine Disc Golf's server. I just had to overide it and allow the script. I'm in now!

Trying to decide whether or not I can afford the time/money to come up and play -- I want to figure it out by tomorrow night and get in before the price goes up.
Does anyone have room on the floor somewhere close to the course where I could crash for the night? I'll bring everything I need and would only need a place to stay for Saturday night. (I'd be driving up Saturday morning and leaving Sunday immediately after the tourney).
I just moved up to pro, and the higher entry fees don't leave a lot of $ leftover for hotels, and there is no camping I can find that is close to Tyler (closest is at Tinicum).
I don't smoke anything but am not opposed to other people's personal choices. I'll be glad to bring a few good microbrews to share as thanks for a place to crash.
Kick me a PM or an e-mail if you'd like to help. Thanks.

Anyone know if there will be a map available to download with the details of the field holes this year. I am curious to see what the field holes will look like this year compared to the last 2 years.

I will be heading out to Tyler tonight for a practice round around 5ish if anyone cares to join in!
I will also attempt to scout out the 9 field holes to see if they are layed out and or marked. If so, I will post a description tonight or tomorrow morning.... I did play last year, so I will be able to compare to that layout.

Apparently the 9 field holes are currently layed out. White PVC poles are in the ground where the baskets will be and all OB, tee boxes etc. are all layed out as well....

Are the field holes the same as last year?
What about the new holes on the perm 27? It looks like at least 3 new holes (20/21/23) Any description available on those? Has BCDGA done a caddy book like last year that is available anywhere?
thanks in advance for any info

I spoke to one of the people that has helped at the course and he told me that the field holes are not entirely the same as last year.
Some are, some are not.
I am going to play the layout in about 3 hours, I will post a recap either tonight or first thing tomorrow.
regarding new holes on the perm 27:
Old #20 - slight downhill left to right shot has been removed and is now replaced with an uphill shot with a very narrow (12 feet wide) fairway to the area of old #27's pin placements.
Old #21 remains but is now #22
New #21 is a down hill shot - in A pin it is only 175ish feet and very aceable - in the B & C pins it is near Old #20's baskets
Old #22 remains but is now #23. A pin remains short just at the top of the small hill after the tee. B pin is on a VERY fast green down the hill to the left. C pin is approx 4-500 feet long and down a narrow fairway sloping down hill to the left with woods on both sides.
Old #27 is gone entirely.
new #27 plays from old #26's tee with the B pin being up on the "island" in the parking lot and the C pin being up on the hill near the old practice basket.
All long grass on the left side is OB
hope that helps a little....

Regarding the field holes, the only major change appears to be the first one. With the change to hole 26/27, #28 from last year is unavailable (the ~350 footer around the big bush). I'm just going off drawings that I've seen for the tee signs, but it looks like it tees off from the parking lot through the tree line and up the hill into the field and plays about 545 feet.
The rest of the holes, starting with the ~600 footer through the gap in the tree line, appear to be the same as last year. The two other significant changes I've noticed, again from the drawings:
...the double mando hole (#35) has some added OB between the mandos. Once you've navigated the first mando, the OB is tucked against the tree line between the two mando openings, making cutting that first corner really tight to set up for the second shot a whole lot more difficult and dangerous.
...the last field hole (finishing near the parking lot and tournament central) is lined with OB on both sides of the fairway. Apparently, this particular OB is only in play for the Pro pool.
BTW, four spots remain open in the Pro side, with roughly 17 hours left to get in.

The field holes:
#28 - Tees from the parking lot near the bottom area of the parking lot. You must tee up the small hill (10 feet up) towards the practice basket and then huge right to left fairway about 600 feet - OB far left entire length of fairway
#29 - pretty much the same - tees from the field and you must split the gap in the tree line and the basket is out on the edge of the small decline down to the road (OB) about 500 feet - seperate pro/am tees
#30 - pretty much the same - tees from the field down the hill and into the woods - about 500 feet - road is OB entire right side of fairway
#31 - pretty much the same - tees from the bottom of the hill - plays uphill about 600 feet - road is OB entire right side of fairway
#32 - pretty much the same- tees from the field and bends left to right about 800 feet with OB island(last year remember there were potted trees in this ditch? this year it is all pricker bushes and nasty schull) about 20 feet short of basket. drop zone is about 50ish feet short of OB island - seperate pro/am tees
#33 - pretty much the same -about 800 feet - tees from field and bends left to right entire lenth *difference from last year* instead of OB lining both sides of the fairway with the road being on the far left - now the OB is only lining the right side of the fairway. The road is still OB on the far left the entire lenth, but really does not factor too much. The basket is again on the island green surrounded by parking lot that is OB - seperate pro/am tees
#34 - same as last year, small 250ft shot over tree lin
#35 - similar to last year - tees from the field through the tree line - mando tree still on your left - this year though, there is a huge area on the other side of the tree line (near the landing area) that is OB - so you can't cut your drive too short around the mando as that area is all OB, you need to go longer in the field to avoid it. Then you come back through the tree line, again with a mando tree on your left - another difference from last year is instead of the basket being straight out in the field from the gap, it is now more to the right about 100 out of the gap.
#36 - pretty much a straight 600 foot hole to the edge of the parking lot - fairway is cut to about 50-60 feet wide max and is marked with OB the entire way on both sides. I am told this will apply to PROS only!
any other questions, just ask
ERIC
I will be out on Friday afternoon to play these holes some more if anyone is interested in joining!

Big THANK YOU goes out to all the TD staff - Big Dog Sweeton, John McGinley, John Birkrem, Bob Enman and anyone else that helped to make this event fun and run VERY smoothly!
Thank you and congrats to Joe Mela for creating such a challanging course as well as schooling the field and winning!

Looking at those scores and how mela whooped up on a very impressive field seems to be going under-appreciated. Winning by 10 throws over that group of golfers is impressive no matter who it would have been or on what course. There must be some statistical abomination that someone could point out for such a win. I realize that Joe is unique and all -- but those round ratings consecutively so far over his current rating with several highly rated golfers playing at their peak . . .?? Joe killed 'em -- 3 out of his 4 rounds were better than anyone else's in the tournament -- how often does happen against high-end guys like were in that tournament?

I would be curious to hear what someone who played with him thought.
I really am not surprised though - I see his scores on that course from league layout and stuff and he routinely shoots in the 40's in the woods there!
Either way, it was well earned on Joey's part!

I played with Joe in the first round and he was playing extremely well. Even so, the 60 he shot was downright sneaky, because it wasn't as though he was up the middle and flawless on every hole. The thing was that even when he had a bad shot, he was recovering well enough to salvage the hole without really giving up a stroke. I can think of two or three holes in a row where he caught wood off the tee, ended up in the rough, then made a great second shot and/or a huge putt to not even lose ground to the rest of the card who played it essentially right. Basically, he would have a bad shot, but he NEVER had a bad hole. Not really even a mediocre hole. Just good holes (par) and great holes (birdie/eagle). It was an awesome display to watch.
To put it in perspective...I could go through my rounds this weekend and pick out strokes here and there that I could have avoided (missed putts inside 20-25, bad shot choices/decisions, avoidable OB shots) and I'd still have been ~15 strokes behind Joe. Yikes.
It was a great weekend. Great courses, great play (to watch, not from me ;)), great people, great everything. I love that course and all the BCDGA crew. I can't wait to go back next year, and I haven't even been home 24 hours yet.

The YeTTer is always a great event, the course and the changes were awesome. It is great to see such a strong club BCDGA come together year after year and run such a smooth event. Joey Mela shot some phenominal error free golf all weekend, plus his puTTing was very on. Congrats to all the winners.
