I will be out at Deer Lakes all day Friday doing a little playing and a lot of course prep.

If anyone is interested in helping out please get a hold of me before then or come out and meet up on Friday. I plan on getting there around 9am and will be there for the majority of the day.

I was at the course last night and the county has mowed everything!!! #'s 3 and 14! I mean as mush as they possibly could! there is a weedwack crew on the course now as well!

after a few solid days of work the DLDGC should be looking top notch.

NICE!!!!!! Thats sweet!! What did they mow on 14??? The leaves or the pine needles? I didn't know there was any grass in those woods.

So what's your job? Oh I'm on the weedwack crew. lol

I was on the weedwack crew at the golf course when I first started there. it sucked worse than you can imagine.

anyway, here is my plan for tomorrow. If anyone comes out look for me somewhere along the following path:

hole 1
remove sticks and debris from fairway

hole 2
remove gas line sign in front of white tee...
clean up fairway edges and a few limbs..
clear stump from tree that was knocked down near "B" position

hole 3
clean green area around "B" position

hole 4
clean green around "B" position

hole 5
clear Blue Tee area for view of hillside
clear fairway of debris

hole 6
fix OB rope
clear fairway of debris
remove a few small limbs and trees

the back nine will get attention this weekend and next week.

if anyone plays the DLDGC this coming week, please take some time to clear sticks/vines/debris if you notice them. 15 minutes can do a lot for the course!

Thanks,

Stella.

Come on, Deitz.....you can't tell me you've forgotten about the waist-high weeds on the downslope beneath the greens?!? :D

That's awesome news about the course improvements, Stella!

The only way the Poole's are coming is if there is an easter egg hunt during the rounds. :D

I will be out on the course again this Friday, August 22nd, for a workday extravaganza.

starting a little later this week (most likely around noon) and will work until I dont feel like it anymore. If anyone has some time and wants to come out to lend a hand your time would be appreciated.

DS and myself will also be at the course on Saturday. I know that is the Ace Race, but, if you are not participating over at Knobulous then you may want to consider coming out and giving some time to the DLDGC.

Thanks,

Stella.

Congratulations to the winners. Josh Charlton, Scott Heintzelmann and myself. Scott made a huge putt in the playoffs to win.

Another great event. Thanks to all that came.

Yes...Yes, Congratulations to all the winners and more importantly to the HUNT. Three cheers to all that play which helped raise $500 for the upcoming DLDGC tourney.

By the way, I finally got lucky and birdied #14 from the blues. My second poke and hope, hope'd it's way through the trees which left me an easy forehand that I placed 20 feet from the pin.

A big "Thank you" to the twenty-five players who participated in the inaugural Deer Lakes Course Championship. As Kurt already noted above, $500 was raised for our fall event, The Hunt at Deer Lakes, a PDGA B-tier sanctioned event scheduled for Saturday, September 27. Congratulations to all the divisional champs, especially "Backseat" Stella.....he's been working like a mule for the past couple of weeks and the course has never looked better than it does right now. For those who decided not to play, yinz missed out n'at. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
