I'm trying to envision what would be considered average/woodsy/corridor... foliage for a disc golf hole.

http://hometown.aol.com/ck34/images/scoreavgchart.jpg

The Estimated Hole Scoring Averages chart lists nine distinct foliage factors. Could anyone describe/provide pictures of a hole that exemplifies any of these factors (none is pretty self-explanatory)

I'm curious as to what is taken into account i.e. undergrowth, high limbs, early/late gaps or windows, thick rough, etc...

In Virginia, Dorey and Gillies courses rated as Average foliage overall. Newport and Shreando rated overall with foliage as Stands. Bluemont and Grange rated in the Tighter category.

Chuck,

What is a prototypical average hole?
Woodsy?
Corridor?
Tighter?

I'm curious about considering holes on an individual basis, which is how the chart is setup.

Since there are pictures of the Highbridge courses online and having the MSDGC DVDs handy, referring to those courses and certain holes in particular could help.

Thanks

Check out the pictures that have been posted on the CADGA website for Shaffer Park in Pennsylvania. I think that if you could visit this park you would see that it exemplifies what is woodsy, forested, lots-of-bushes, and brush, and sticker bushes, trees, you name it, etc.... www.carlislediscgolf.com. (http://www.carlislediscgolf.com.) They have pictures. But you have to see these 9 holes for yourself. Hehe

For what skill level? I'm guessing Blue.

Gold. It's all based off the formula to determine the SSA with the baseline at 285 for average foliage.
