So who's bidding on the 2009 worlds? I know it's premature but I'm had to miss this year's Worlds so I'm anxious to plan for next year.

Any rumors? Who's got the scoop? I've heard Kansas City was a rumor.

Wow, OK no more rumors then. How about an approximate date? Bout the same date as this year?

Look at the PDGA Tour calendar. It's already listed.

I just checked airline tickets but they wont let me plan that far in advance

On that note, how "set in stone" are those dates?

I heard that Tiffen, OH has AM Worlds in 2010. Is this still true?

I found this on a thread from last year:

2008 Pro-Am Worlds Kalamazoo, MI
2008 Womens Nationals Huntsville, AL
2009 Pro-Am Worlds Kansas City, MO
2009 Womens Nationals Quad Cities, IA
2010 Am Worlds Mid-Ohio
2010 Womens Nationals Jacksonville, NC
2011 Am Worlds Rochester, NY

Kinda sux to be a left-coaster.

Its ALWAYS has SUCKED to be a "Left Coaster" as far as ALL PDGA scheduling goes..... :p

For some reason the "powers" have NOT YET figured out that it is still VERY COLD & Rainy in the N.W during April-May (when they would like the "Tour" to come thru the area)

AND that the weather is a heck of alot better than ANYWHERE east of the Rockies during "World's" timing.
You would think that mild temps and LOW humidity would be a bonus....

Could be?? /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

With AM Worlds locked up thru 2012, its kind of tough to attempt to plan that far ahead.
Pro Worlds in 2010 is the earliest possible avail.

MOST do not want a Pro World's because they cant make a heap of money as has been evident recently with AM worlds.
:(

MAYBE the N.W. will step up and show them ALL..... :D

The Pacific NW would be the way to go. Oregon has the courses, people of skill and proven tournament know-how. Summer weather is often wonderful.

We to the south can dream, and we do. Crazy ideas do sometimes get tossed about. Future will tell but none of us want to be known for the worlds where half of the field got stuck in traffic.

thats what I was going to say. If valid bids are being put in and for some reason they are getting passed up then thats another story.

I know the "people can't make money w/ pro worlds" story but if anyone wants to host worlds that bad they could step up and get it done w/ a couple solid sponsorships.

I personally think the PDGA shouldn't entertain Am only bids that far out unless they are willing to run the pro side as well... if you only want to do the am side then it should be tabled for a little while to see if anyone wants to step up and run both. Would help alleviate that issue some.

But then HOW would you be able to keep all that money made off AM Worlds /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif </font>

I would LOVE to see Worlds in the NW, and I think the rest of the players would too. I used to live in Beaverton and it's just awesome up there in the summer. Magilla you make this happen man! :D

Take the fall bar exam and clerk for a year. Where are your priorities?!?!

bruce_brakel

Seriously, when I was in law school I knew a guy who split his summers between clerking for a firm in Anchorage and working on a fishing boat. The firm offered him a job starting in June contingent on passing the July bar. He counter-offered starting in September contingent on passing the October bar [or November, whichever it was.] No way was he going to miss fishing season for some low paying lawyer job!
