Disc Golf Live will be in the house as well. We'll have all of our episodes on hand and some great deals on 25-episode sets.
We'll be happy to talk to folks about how they can have their events featured on DGL, and how to get copies of DGL for your pro shop or retail outlet.
Looking forward to the whole week.

You're not getting soft out there in the desert are you, Keith?
It could be worse. No smog masks being given out in player's packages. They're getting those at the Olympics. Now that's a perk.
The scent of DEET will prevail. You won't notice the humidity, anyway.

so how does that work with everyone playing different courses?

They could calculate your handicap from earlier rounds, then apply that to your score in that last round before semis after adjusting for the SSA of your course played. Voila! Just guessing though.

So the guy who will win will proably be rated 930or so. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

This would be more fair than a handicap league since I doubt anyone would be bagging just to win this prize and there will be few new, fast improving players like a league. If a 930 player wins it, it's only because there will likely be more players in all divisions at Worlds with ratings within 5 points of 930. Be interesting to see what the average rating is.

No its because those are usually those fast improving players that play better than their rating.
It has gotten better with the double weighting though.

Average Worlds Ratings:
Pros = 958 from 925-935 rating = 15 (5%)
Ams = 903 from 925-935 rating = 70 (13%)
Jrs = 861 from 925-935 rating = 2 (5%)
Straight odds of a player winning the DGU event with a rating from 925-935 is about 1 in 10.

so how does that work with everyone playing different courses?
Our system takes into account the player's handicap and the course being played to generate a handicap unique to that player and course combination for that particular round. We will establish handicaps for each player during the initial rounds of the Worlds.

Since we are establishing handicaps during the week of the Worlds, this should effect should be minimized. Plus, it's a free chance to win a great prize! What's not to like?
