you need to contact them directly as there are only 3 or 4 distributors so far in the US.
To inquire, contact Sally Geldard at 800.325.5022 ext.125 or geldards@vibram.com

2x2 foot squares. not sure of the price but i heard about $20 per square.
unless our club says no, i am putting on in on Veterans hole 18, a concrete pad that was watered and smoothed when it was put in so much that is as smoth and slick as glass when wet.

just got off the phone with Sally.
no distributors yet, will probably sell direct due to low margins on this product.
should come out in the fall sometime. they are researching a different binding agent before releasing.
expected/target price in the $27-28 per square range.

jax, interesting. i talked to them twice about concrete. sally recopmmended using liquid nails to secure the pad to the crete. its also used to glue the pads together on the sides. dunno... i guess we will see..

so roughly $500 for 6x12- makes grangegrass look more economical than i thought...
did you play off of the grangegrass (basically ball golf green material) at maple hill pat? if so what did you think?

is that what they have on hole 5's pad? that pad was real nice over the wood base, for sure. i do like the grippiness of the vibram overall, and it seems like an really good way to tackle our local problem on hole 18.

Hole 5 had an artificial grass tee, it was OK, nothing special IMO, the notable thing was that it was an octagon shape to allow for drives and runups in different directions. I thought the Vibram tees were the best, they played excellent and would be easy on the body with their bounce back.
How are these when they are wet? I know some vibram can be really slippery when wet, but overall i'm a huge fan of it on shoes due to durability.
I know they make multiple types of vibram as well, ranging from very soft and sticky to hard as a rock indestructible and slippery.
I used to work in the outdoor retail industry and people, including myself always had problems with chacos being very slippery in the rivers unless they had the 5:10 Stealth Rubber sole. We worked with all the Grand Canyon colorado river guides and they are some of the best test subjects :)

I tested the Vibram pad out very thoroughly in practice and they were amazing. Great grip even in the rain. Awesome bounce to them as well. Just too expensive right now. They told me $25 - $30 per 2 x 2 foot square. What would be really cool is if they could make these pads with some sort of foundation built onto them so you could just lay them down over some flat ground without having to lay a foundation. For right now, it's almost $8500 to do 18 5x15 pads!!! That's a lot of money. But they were 100% for sure better feeling in all conditions than the flypads out there.

and Hole 5's grass tee was the most dangerous tee I have ever played hands-down. I fell so hard the first round throwing a little sidearm, and slipped every round on them.

strange- the ones here aren't slippery at all- maybe he didn't put enough sand in it.

Perhaps it was just my shoes? I just didn't feel confident on that tee after the slip on the first round. Yet my shot that I fell down on was my best shot of the week and got me my only 2.

haha, I liked both pads. although I only 3ed 16 once and had 3 birdies and a par on 5 all weekend. The Vibrams had great grip, though I did not slip once the entire tournament, even playing in a downpour on Thursday.
