I picked up the Sunday paper today and Dick's flyer has an ad for disc golf. There is a disc golf bag and several discs shown in color.

Just be sure to go to dickssportinggoods.com and not Dick's.com
Yikes!

Yep, seen it on the back cover page. It was a small add, but all the same, at least it was there.

The Dick's Sporting Goods here in Fayetteville is great if you are looking to spend $22 on super light fly dyed champion eagles, or if you are in the market for a DX Wolf or Goblin. Anything else and you will need to go to Play-It-Again or online.

Well at least it is some national exposure for Disc golf. The one in Memphis has stuff other than eagles, wolfs and goblins. They have Wraiths, rocs, teebirds.

The one thing you have to remember is Dick's is not trying to sell discs to the people that ALREADY play alot and know where to buy plastic - they are selling to the beginner or frisbee person that happens to see them in the store and wants to try it out, so I would expect more beginner friendly plastic.
Just think the next Climo, Doss, Shultz, Jenkins, or Feldberg could be someone who gets their first disc at a Dick's or Sports Authority, Etc.
The more people that the National Chains sell to will equate to MORE total disc golfers without hurting the local or online stores, actually in the long run it will probably HELP them as the players go out and see other people and find out they can get lots of discs from: (fill in your favorite local or online vendor here)
Just my opinion and also based on fact from Miami, Florida and Tucson, Arizona where I saw it happen first hand.
