I played in a tourney this weekend with a lot of problems. Maybe someone can help with what rules are to be followed by the TD.

1. The TD allowed to many walk up's to enter. The TD allowed so many people to play that the round went from 24 holes to 26 with 4 or 5 ghost groups. Should this have been allowed?
2. The TD was allowing players to write on the scorepointe cards their division. Some players were writing "AM" and nothing more. Most of them didn't even know there were different divisions. Players were stuck wherever. Is this allowed?
3. A player walked up to the TD after the tourney and said I'm supposed to be 3rd place in REC you had me playing in Int you need to move me to Rec. Shouldn't this have been corrected by the player during the tourney? Shouldn't the TD have said "NO" since he wasn't notified earlier? It seems like the player releized he wasn't cashing so he switched divisions.

Can anyone give me some insight?

If this was this TD's first tournament, trust he or she gets enough constructive criticism to avoid such errors in the future, and has desire to do so.

If not, don't patronize his or her events.

It wasn't his first. He runs several a year and I've played in 2 before this one. I was just blown away by how disorganized this event was. The mere fact that I lost points because some guy just jumps in and says move me down.

There's a tournament evaluation form you can submit to the PDGA to comment about TDs or anything else about an event, good or bad. TDs are supposed to make these available to players who ask.

I didn't know about that. Anyway I can get it off the website?

it's a very generic form and is not on the website to my knowledge- just sending a thorough email to gentry will acomplish the same thing.

Just before lunch, I asked Dave if he would make it available for download. It already is available on the Tour page if you know to download the Excel TD report since it's the last tab in the file.

I agree with two posts here.

1. Do not play in tournaments run by this TD. Your pocketbook is always the best way to vote.
2. Contact the tour manager via email. I would not fill out the form myself.

I played the same tourney this wknd. The only problem I saw was the player moving from Int. to Rec. This moved my friend from 3rd to 4th place. The players excuse for being moved was he didnt know the difference between the 2 divisions. Ummm, his entry fee should have told him the difference.

JD that was one of the problems with the entry fee. It was 20 for am 2 and below. By the way if your disc would have been 2inchs lower you would have been walking away with that basket.

I know man. How can it hit the basket like that and actually get the momentum to stand up and roll? Physics is weird man!
