Both guys are great. I think its just going to depend on whos hitting their putts. Blackhawk has a way of evening evrything out. Dont forget yur' bugspray.

Talking to twoputt yesterday, the team idea seems like a good idea. His idea was, to make it fair play, have a pro, adv. am, and have it like a scramble. The Lodge would kick $500 added money. :cool:

I am thinking this fall when the weather gets cooler. I would really like to see a big turn out. I know it is hard to plan, but the more input we can get early, the more sponsorship we could probably get. Typically, the lodge puts everything we make off greens fees, camping fees etc, back into the pot in some form or fashion. That is why early response is helpful, if we see we are going to have a good turnout and can make some decent cashflow projections, then we can up the added money and get that information on the board. :D

I agree, this format should make the tournament run very smoothly, quite similar to regular play.

Thanks for your input. We need to hear from everybody we can so we can try to accomodate all that we can. The dates that we are looking at are Sept 20 or 27th or Oct. 4, 11, or 18. :D

I like all dates but the 18th of Oct.. The city is planting 75 plus trees at mohawk for a coorporate pr deal, and we need groups too help. I would love to have the awsome disc crew help where we play, to plqant a few trees.... my 2 cents. :D

From what I can determine, whatever weekend the friz is, we better not rain on that parade. So, somebody tell me about the friz, cause I'm going. :cool: I have been trying to look it up online but not much luck so far. :o Are there RV hookups available? :D

They had power every year I went. My buddy took his RV a couple times. People had pool table set up, broom handle pool sticks, golf Carts and too much fun

Hey Jim, I threw the Branchwood Open same weekend as the Friz last year. If you guys don't want to run an event that weekend, I don't mind going up against them with the Branchwood Open again possibly. Heck maybe I should make it a team event for Branchwood. Sweet little ball golf course up in Bella Vista that lays out into a really sweet disc golf course.

I think the Friz is one he$$ of a party. I don;t think the golf is the priority, but rather something to do between rounds of partying. I've never been but want to. But I've heard that sometimes by not actually playing your round you can move up the leaderboard, so I don't think the golf is too serious, not that it always should.

Hadn't given alot of thought to running an event at Branchwood this year, but this is kinda getting my interest up and it really does make for a **** fine disc golf course. And I know just about everyone that came last year would probably be willing to make the trek back over for another shot at my set up on that course.

Heath, I don't think I want to schedule anything here on that same weekend. I don't mind going on into november or december. I probably better get hold of my main man, twisted 1 for his thoughts on all this. The weather will still be good and I will have the fireplace going in the lodge. :D

Im sure OKC could bring a team or two.

What about trophies and plaques? I think we should present a big disc golf trophy to the winning team of the 1st annual Lodge Team Challenge. What other plaques should we present? something like the Furdog award for wildest shot? Where can I find someplace to get a disc golf trophy?? :cool:

Are you sure Mohawk won't be under water then? Is this where the river tax money is going? You city guys can't even get the tree debris cleaned up from last year and now you want to spend money to plant more? :confused:

Well all this stuff needs to be settled at one point because I'm sure the TDSA is going to have it's annual picnic at some point during those months. :confused:



Could the TDSA picnic be held in conjunction with the team challenge? We certainly have the room and if it would help, The Lodge could bus a group up and back. :D

I don't know Jim. I'm not officially speaking for the club but I know the club needs to get a "quorum" or majority of current members there to have an official vote. I don't know who's up for re-election this year but without the proper numbers I think a vote can't take place. Gas prices and distance might be a factor.

Also I think the shorter course at Chandler has a tendancy for more members who don't play that much, to attend and also bring their family.

I do know that if THE CLUB DOESN'T DECIDE ON A DATE SOON SO I CAN RESERVE THE SHELTER they may end up having it at another location after all.

I think the bus ride is a good idea though as long as spitballs and beer is allowed. :D....Is there anyway we can tye dye the bus? ;)

Furdog, thanks for the reply. See I didn't realize the picnic also conducted business, like the voting thing. That clearly makes it a local venue event. As for the bus, I think it should be clearly and obviously "DISC GOLF" themed. What better than tye dyed? How do we do it? Anybody out there up for the task? :D The gas prices are what is making me think that the bus thing is a good idea for the lodge. My thinking is that the bus could pick up at a central point on say friday afternoon and deliver people back on sunday of tournaments. (open for suggestions)

For example, Duncan Hillclimber, bus pick up in tulsa at someones house, depending on the number of tulsa riders, we could stop through OKC and Norman and pick up riders, go to the tournament and return. Just one more way we are trying to promote the sport and help more players attend more events. :cool:

Since niether of them work or have any type of jobs, good luck finding them. You may just want to hang out at the parks for a while and they'll usually show up in the late afternoon, after they get out of bed. :o
