Yes, that crossing gets the next bridge, 9's tee box will also be back-filled to prevent erosion and improve run-ups. Do you want to help build some bridges Mr. T?

james_mccaine

Vinnie, let the Red Rockers handle it, they all have freakish skill in handling snakes. Tom charms them out; Martin liquors them up and promises a poker game; Turbo talks coon*** to them and they figure they will end up in a stew and scamper away; the hitman can have no effect since his powers have been sucked out of him by the Oklahoma wind; Metal Mike's voice will clear them out quickly, and Lou just casually says "boys, follow me to the revival" and they follow without questioning why. Randy knows that the Red Rockers really have no snake handling skills and stays on the side to addresses the eventual casualties with his fireman skills.
If this strategy doesn't work, bash it's head with Loretta , and ask Chile for forgiveness. :p

Jul 23 2008, 10:23 AM
You're correct: the starting hole doesn't matter much as there will be backups.
My basic concern is that groups will wait for the group ahead to hole out on a really long hole before teeing and bam, an intermitable logjam is created. I am seeing more and more of this at tournaments: people think that if there is a possibility, however remote, that their drive will land within 100 feet of the group ahead, that they should wait. On a course like Manor, that mentality could create one really long day.
LouMoreno

Otherwise....we have the #1 starter in Texas teeing everyone off on #11 & I'm sure he can handle explaining to players the importance of time management during their rounds.
No matter what, it will be a long, HOTT day!
One of the craziest things I've ever seen in my life was a water moccasin chasing my dad around & around in circles.
They have no fear & are mean as hell.

city slickers don't know how bad a moccasin can be. I'll leave a rattler to his own, before I let a moccasin live.

Are ther any maps to find this?
Vinnie, are you (snake) spotting this tournie? (you're not listed on the players list.
It's O.K. w/ me to kill the water moccasins. We are encouraged to kill 'em off here at the Spring Valley course. (had a huge one go after a player a few weeks ago)
Maybe scattering a few snakes around the course will speed up play? (I know I'll step in & throw fast if I'm off the fairway!) :o

Maybe what I should 'a said was 'Where's Lunch?!'
As you all can imagine, providing a lunch out there has been a challenge, and is important due to time issues & distance of eateries.
We've decided to have a Sandwich Bar/Table. For $5 you can make whatever sandwich you want, grab some chips, & get a drink. If you have any doubts about what I might choose for sandwich ingredients, please ask the Waterloooooooooo Team Members for their opinion....I'm sure it will be more than you expected for $5 :D

It tastes like chicken. I was watching some channel last night. Some herpatologist was trying to find a King Cobra. He found it, and started messing with it..pulling its tail and straightening it out. He was still alive when I turned the channel to hear about the Grizzlies who ate the couple camping. Anyways, that's how I imagine Jim, wrangling the moccasin. The moral being (to Jim): if you successfully wrangle the moccasin, don't go camping in Alaska. ;)
Is there doubles on friday?

Many thanks to the Justices, the volunteers, and all the spotters. Nice shooting Anthony. Very solid golf. The bubble and the moon cash!!!!! Wow, true signs of the end times. Looks like I should start shopping around for a religion.
James, I think you just need to practice more.......hahahahahahahhaa.
Cheers!

Big props to TeamJustice for another great event.
And Olse, well done on a fantastic course design.
For the record, I saw zero snakes and two rabbits....and lots and lots and lots of cactus and briars.

I agree, great job running the tourney everyone, especially Patty and Mitch. Great job with the course Mike and minions. It's great to have a tourney out there, no matter how badly one plays.
Congrats to Anthony. Hot shooting. Tom and Randy. Good shooting, you made Chris proud. ;)
Now to go practice. :p

'What is that saying about sunshine and a dog's *****'.
I was thinking of the 'blind squirrel' analogy.. :) I never saw Randy and only saw his brother Lou once, briefly, through the trees. Team Justice, thanks again for a great HOTT Saturday!

Hopefully someone will run a small 1 day tourney there this winter. I'm sure this course will be a lot more forgiving then :p.

Great job everyone!
That course is amazing! A BIG THANKS to everyone who has put time in out there working on it. The bridges are sweeet! Who ever did the design is a genius & should be immortalized on a full color mini :D
Chuckles....yes, we have your chair.
Way to go HOTT Staffers.....this may have been the toughest one yet, but you guys roc'd it anyway.
Jamie....got your raffle prize right here. I'll mail it tomorrow.
I Haven't heard from any other raffle winners......check your numbers HERE! (http://teamjusticediscgolf.com/MANORPLAYERS)
Great win Anthony! You played solid golf out there and now hold the official course record
I think we all learned a lot about that course on Saturday.
One thing's for sure, The 2nd Annual Manor Championship needs to be in February :D....and I'm thinking 2 days, only 1 round per day.....or separate days for Pros & Ams...something will need to be adjusted, no doubt.

hell we had a guy on our card that was so slow I thought we were the only ones on the course most of the time. until I would look back and see the # of cards waiting to tee...
Thank you to all the spotters and staff members that made this event possible and to Turbo and his work crews for the course improvements.. next time lets please do our secornd rounds by score when possible there was no way to get a groove going on the card I was on

It was another great event. Thanks Justices and staff. I'm sure it was a long day for the spotters and the water jug refillers. It's very appreciated.
Randy, congrats bro!

Really, Chris? Really? You think people would have preferred a shuffle? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I think everyone would have preferred the NORMAL shuffling of the cards....including the staff. If you're going to whine, whine about something that isn't so obvious.....jeesh.
Would you rather have had a 10 minute lunch & finished in the dark?......'cuz that was pretty much the other option.

I want to thank Team Justice and all staff members and spotters. It was a long hot day and I appreciate everybody involved. Also I was a little disappointed that nobody shot in the 90's, maybe next time we can skip lunch all together and my wishes will be fulfilled.
On another note somebody took my chair. I was in the final group and when I was adding up my card somebody grabbed it. It's a Colman folding chair. If you "accidently" took this please return. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41K93539KDL._SL160_.jpg

Not exactly the Saturday tourney groove I had in mind either. However, some good did come out of the road trip. I got to see my Austin disc golf family, even got to spend the day with some. The course is great. I need to get some revenge on the course so I'm hoping another tourney will be held there soon. Until then, I need to follow James out to the practice field. And I need to work on not being distracted so much.

10 minute lunch
sheesh . :( I only got a 22 min lunch anyways so whats the diff. just glad I had some food to eat
even got to spend the day with some
that is why I dont like tee times you dont get to hang out between rounds with fellow disc golfers other then who is on your card. so I guess you need to hope you have a GREAT card for the first round. It was good hanging out all day with Jake and glad to see you guys made it home safe..

Actually ... Great job here adjusting on the fly. This was really just a product of having people playing a really hard and long course for the first time in a large tourney. I know it wasn't ideal to just go back out with the same card, but the alternative was much worse. Luckily my card was great fun to play with and we where the first card going out to the play the longs each round so we didn't have a soul in front of us or behind and us and it did feel like we where out there all alone :D.
I am very impressed with this course given it was just installed. With a few tee box benches, some additional clearing on a few of short holes, and some seasoning from play this course could go right near the top of the list. Can you imagine this course with water ... .
What has to be done to get an additional 9 or 18 over there in the cleared out area by the pond? :o

You need to leave my unmentionables out of this.
As for the rest of what you're saying......we all understand....and you should know (because it's NORMAL) that if there was any way to shuffle the cards and EVERYONE finish, we would would have shuffled them.....so whining about it is just that....nothing more than whining, that's all I was saying.

Great job Team Justice!! If we would have regrouped for the 2nd round, everyones lunch would be cut short, thanks for looking out for the players and listening to our opinions, etc... There is a reason why all Team Justice events fill-
they are ran excellent with great payouts, etc.

With water, #5 would be a very evil little dinker hole. Very beautiful, but very evil.
