I'm curious if anyone knows Heath Sanders (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/playerstats.php?PDGANum=13454). I ask because he has a DGA Mach III Basket (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200233324587&ssPageNam e=ADME:B:EF:US:1123) on Ebay and some red flags started jumping out at me. I wanted to come on here and see if anyone knows him and the area he's from because this has all the signs stolen property and I certainly wouldn't want to bid, win, or receive any stolen property. I'm sure someone from that area (North Canton, Ohio) can shed some light on this.
He mentioned that he has had it for a few years. However, that basket is clearly more like early 90's or late 80's even. He did not say if he bought it a few years ago but he said he's had it a few years. It has the OLD "Disc Golf Course" writing on the number plate but the number 5 decal is from within the past few years. Also, if you look closely you can see that the number 5 decal is after market compared to the decal that used to be on that number plate. Remember, any basket within the past 6 or 7 years has had the new DGA logo on the number plate. Also, that is NOT a standard DGA focal point. Instead, it's more like a Discraft focal point.
And the elephant in the room that jumps right off the page is the pole and pole assembly that comes with it. We all know that all original baskets that come from Discraft, DGA, or Innova all come in one solid pole. This doesn't have an anchor but instead it looks like it shoves straight into the ground and then attaches by what would be the ground locking collar to the pole to the bottom of the basket.
I originally asked him a few questions via Ebay just out of curiosity but the more I look at the auction the more I've become skeptical. It just seems like too many things don't add up.
Please keep in mind that I am NOT accusing him of stealing it OR having stolen property. I am really on here just asking if anyone knows him or can vow for the validity of this basket and this potential sale. I guess that's what I get for being too detail orientated - I think I discovered that there were far too many odd things about this particular basket to just take it at face value.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Am I over-reacting here? I'm not out to start a witch hunt but with 5 or 6 random baskets being stolen from disc golf courses in Wisconsin in the past 2 months I'm really getting tired of this happening.
