I've been watching on the news the footage of Cedar Rapids (my home town) Cedar Rapids (essentially my home town) and Cedar Falls (where I went to college). It is devastating!!! I lived in these areas for 25 years and it never flooded this bad. Luckily it doesn't look like anyone has been killed by the floods at this point. However they are not out of the water (bad pun) yet. In Cedar Rapids they've lost 75% of their water treatment facilities and are in danger of losing the last 25%. They surpassed the 500 year flood mark by 6 feet. In case not all of you have had a chance to go to Iowa, Iowa is Disc Golf Heaven with more course per population and land size than just about any other state. Keep those Iowa frolfers in your thoughts!

Adam Olsen sent a video to my phone. I think it might be a DG course, but looks more like raging river.

Jones is a ways from downtown and the cedar river, but it is in a low lying area. Chances are the courses there sustained dammage as well. My heart goes out to all who are dealing with this apocalyptic like situation. It is truly tragic the widespread damage that is happening all over the midwest. Many many thoughts will be with those in Iowa and southern Wisconsin!!

Jones park is only about 1/2 mile from the Czeck area that was totally destroyed and the park actually borders the river and has a tributary running through it. Luckily the course is on the hightest part of the park and one of the highest spots around.
