KJ, I never said you started it, as I greatly appreciate the Mr. Florida, but it's Sir Florida....

Sorry Sir Florida!

Great job on the Jville Event earlier this year, hopefully it won't be on a conflicting date for me next year so I can come down and play in it.

US Doubles in this thread...... Bubba Georgia ;) (figured Sir/Mr didnt quite fit)

and nobody said anything about Charlotte. Polish was just hinting around about things.

back to doubles...

CAN'T WAIT! Can't wait to play, can't wait to watch some of the Pro matchups, can't wait to be on the competitor side of the ropes (hopefully most of the time) @ winthrop.

GOOD STUFF!!!!

OK.. How about this, The US doubles are near a city which will Probably be hosting the Worlds in 2012... does that tie it together better for you? :D

sounds better! ;) and yes it sounds like Charlotte is going to make a run for Worlds in 2012 (combined from what I understand)... been told its not much of a secret anymore and its ok to say.

a few people have already done so but posting on charltotedgc.com discussion bard asking about crash pads might work better.

Any idea as to which format the ams will be playing? I know the pros start at Hornets Nest with alternate shot
then go to Renny for mixed format.
With the ams starting at Renny do we play mixed format first then alternate shot at Hornets nest in the afternoon?
Thanks for any help.

That is certainly possible but does not make much sense.
Having never played either course but I can tell that Renni is obviously the harder of the two, that the TD assigned the 6-6-6 for Renni due to the holes 1-6,7-12,13-18 at Renni.

But still I am only guessing. Hopefully someone with some real knowledge will speak up soon.

Either way I am stoked and cant wait!

As of today the answer is pretty darn good, at least in my opinion. Yesterday we had a total of 85 entries from about 25 people. (J. Poole on July 1st)

Is there a fee to play?
Or it is free?
Do I need a tee time or first come first serve?

oh yeah... just a warning but avoid waiting until you get to Charlotte/Rock Hill to get gas

a bit of a gas shortage going on and people are having to wait in line for hours to get gas (if they find the 1 station that might have any)

hoping it'll be cleared up in a few days but if you're road trippin fill up before you get within an hour of here

Haven't updated the PDGA Location but I am living in Claremont, CA. My wife took a job at Univ. of La Verne and I am teaching out here in SoCal. The New Home Course is La Marada. (the US Masters was great)

If any Carolina Boys are interested you have a place to crash for the Golden State Classic or the SoCal Championships.

you'll love the Boss. I got a couple of the Champ Boss: It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

just talked to Koling.

Only 8 teams showed up - Franks and Brinster's partners were MIA, so they teamed up to play as the 9th team.

Apparently, everyone is going as a DNF and every team is cashing.

Anyway, Koling and Johansen lead by 4 after day over Shusterick and Orrick. Jenkings Feldberg 3rd, Radenberg Howard 4th, Schweberger Schultz 5th.

Thats all I know.

Jeremy told me he and Johansen had 11 deuces in at shot at Ho Nest. SICK!!!

After playing the 2 rounds today I have to tip my hat to the Charlotte parks dept, Charlotte disc golf club and all the volunteers who put in the work to keep up these courses. They are 2 of my favorite and i am so glad i made the long haul to play. It was a little wet but still lots of fun. I even got to see a copperhead snake. It almost bit one of the guys in my group.
Looking forward to Winthrop Gold!!!!

Lil Wigg & Polish won Am - won personalized basket & free spot for monday qualifier (came back from 3rd)
Dennis Young/ David Monteith - 2 revo bags & $100 merch
'Team Double Cross' Stack/Noble - $300 merch (came back from 7th)
Buddy/Plummer - $275 merch?
..

HAD AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! Couldv'e finished dfl and would've still be a great experience/privileged to be able to play winthrop with all the grandeur!
