COME ROOT FOR THE DISC GOLFERS AND HAVE SOME FUN WATCHING THIS CHALLENGE. CHALLENGE WILL START BETWEEN 4 AND 5 PM. update:
unlike in the past this will be a ONE DAY event -- Saturday June 14th. Two rounds from the longs according to what the man (Fred Salaz) said yesterday. By the way Fred is walking now and should be back playing soon.

After mild complaints about Masters playing Highbridge Gold and Woodland Bear in one day at PW2007, how did Freddie come up with playing Idlewild longs twice in a day for old guys? :eek:

i can't speak for Fred, but i would guess it is Fred's general policy to disregard mild complaints about the challenge of playing two rounds of Idlewild Longs in one day, even for older guys. :D:p presumedly, he is also following the golden rule...

"Bear" in mind [:)], unlike Pro Worlds 2007 this is a one day, two-round event and so it is not as physically demanding. Also, there are only 5 holes at Idlewild that have a long / short tee or basket so the difference is not as great as one might think. Lastly, Idlewild does not involve the topographic challenge that Highbridge entails -- so ones legs are not as quick to ask the mouth to lobby the TD on their behalf ;)

my biggest complaint about Pro Worlds 07 was the elevated basket (i missed two 15 footers) :eek: if i had made those putts, i might not have such a problem with it :p ;)

I'll be processing the course layouts for the last batches of events that will get rated in this next update. Have a good event.

Numbers are alluring, but Idlewild sounds like a lot more fun to me. Thanks though for all you do; maybe we'll see you next year...

With air fares going up, I suspect several of us may be driving to the IDGC rather than flying for meetings so I may get thru there a few times per year.

Ironic that one of my few disappointing holes (11) is featured on the review page...

I'm glad to see that players used to playing par 3 courses are raving about it. Bodes well for the future of gold courses.

The Big Oak on hole three is fine. The course lost a couple of trees on hole nine, but nothing that really came into play...shucks!
Flooding along the creek caused the most problems, but things should be fine by the weekend.
