I'm just curious how many people out there with Innova Back Straps have had problems. I've been on Innova's site looking for e-mail contact info with no success so I'll have to call. I just bought my straps on May 14th and today I noticed that they have already split down the side of the right strap. I carry an Innova Deluxe Bag with 15-16 discs so I don't see it. I've checked today with locals and I'm the third that I spoke with to get Straps and have them last less than two months. I'm curious to see what their response is when I call them and I'll be sure to let everyone know the results of my conversation. I can't help but be a little disappointed right now - And I should have waited until I got somewhere to pick up Phenix Straps instead.

i have had mine for about a year and a half, and i haven't had any problems.

Dear Jerry,
I am sorry that your straps failed. We have had some problems with these. Please call me toll free at (800) 476-3968 or e-mail me at hduvallatinnovadiscgolf.com. If you are able to e-mail some pictures, it would help us in our efforts to improve. Again, I apologize for your strap failure.
Take care,
Harold Duvall

I also bought a pair of the redesigned ones in February and they lasted about 2 months before the seam split on the right shoulder. Innova sent me a new pair and they've been just fine. IMO, the design flaw was not taking into account the weight applied to a single support point (front right, in my case) when the bag is oftened carried on one shoulder. I'll do this a lot if the walk to the next shot doesn't warrant slinging over both shoulders.

I have received response from Innova and they seem very prepared to stand by their products and take care of things. Thanks for the input and info.

You would not have this problem with revolution backpack...

Well, since you've thrown it in the fire ... Maybe the backpack will be more comfortable, and will probably last longer ... I have a HUGE issue with the Roll Cage, and construction of the lower compartment of the Revolution Backpack. Often, the Roll Cage does not fit in the compartment and sticks out, or does not sit properly in the compartment (on almost every Revo Backpack I've ever seen). This issue was so bad with my Revolution Backpack that I sold it, and I will not be buying another one. Based on my years working in the backpack and climbing industry as a designer (over 15 years) I see this as a design flaw, and production issue. The pack is just not wide enough to hold the Roll Cage consistently. The pack pattern needs to be widened, or a Roll Cage needs to be designed to "fit" the compartment. I like the bag a lot, but for the price, I was very unhappy with the way that compartment is designed.
I'm sure the issue with the Innova Backsaver straps is similar. Tolerances for patterns are probably not great enough, making the straps hard to sew [piece rate speed = cost] fast. I've made a lot of backpack harnesses in my life, and they are not easy to make. If their is not enough material [pattern too small] they will often pop at the seams. I don't know if the material is "hot" cut, but if it's not, that makes it even more likely to blow. Saving money on production to sell a low cost product is probably the issue.
Now that said, the pair of Innova Backsave straps that I have on one of my bags is holding up well ... but then I have Pheonix straps on my tourney bag, and that's the bag that takes a beating. Pretty easy to see that you get what you pay for in this instance.

There is a fix to the poorly designed roll cage. Don't use it.

I added the wooden dowel rod to give me more support for the top section since that's where I carry my putters. Even with the top bars I can fit 15+ discs in the main compartment and have little trouble pulling out the discs on the ends.

The back and front of the frame look identical with the two cross bars. It came with a center divider that was held in place by the o-rings, but I don't use it. The frame is really light, probably only a couple ounces heavier than the plastic version, and it works very well. It's been in my bag since I got it, about 1.5 yrs and I've had no problems.
BlindCrow (Paul?) can be found on this board. At least that's where I found him. Chase from Iron Lion may know, I believe he has one of his frames.

hey ferret, so how is the wooden rod connected. Is it just wedged in there or did you drill through the frame. This might be a good fix for my buddies revo bag. The top part of his cage sticks out and looks like it might fall out completely sometimes. Also, how much did the new cage cost? Looks like a much better design.

The straps I use came off a golf bag... for free. no shocks but they get the job done. Check out second hand stores/salvations army for cheap ball golf bag with straps. They are built to carry 14ish golf clubs & gear. Stong & reliable. Innova, possibly look to these for design improvement?

OR Jesse you could spend $40 on a pair of good straps that are going to last you for years and have shocks...
