I was looking at the PDGA Standards Chart page and was wondering what the "Maximum Event Management" fee is?

Just don't think that way. Think, "How am I going to put on a great tournament that everyone will want to play again next year?"

Bruce...

Perhaps he is just wondering what that meant and not ACTUALLY what is the fee he/she can charge.

That fee is something that the club/TD CAN charge for running the event.

Ok. I was just making sure that it is not a mandatory fee. The wording of that fee made no sense either so I was looking for an explanation of what it is for.

More specifically it means that a club/TD can take 10% of the entry fees for their time and effort up to the maximum per tier. You don't HAVE to take anything.

Next question.

Va Du Mar course has Long Tees and Short Tees for every hole. The Long Tees are set for Pros and Adv. Ams and the Short Tees are set up for Int. players. Would it be feasible to have the Pros and Adv Ams play Longs and Int. play Shorts? Would this make round ratings difficult, or impossible? Is it safe to have both Pro Men and Women play longs, if we do have a Womens Div, or just the Men? Any suggestions would be helpful. I plan on having 3 Div. Pro Open, Adv, and Int. I believe that a tournament has to have at least 3? I will research it but if someone can give me some feedback that would be great.

You only need five players with established ratings over 799 based on at least 8 rounds to get a rating on a course layout during an event. No problem with divisions playing different layouts if you get enough players.

So when we have players playing different tees is that something that needs to be noted on the flyer, or is it just something we tell players as they register and also mention at the players meeting?

No requirement to be on the flyer but players usually appreciate knowing what tees they are playing so they can practice. You also indicate what tees each division plays when you prepare your tournament report.

How can I find out if I have been approved to be a TD? I sent the test along with the sanctioning. I think that I read that it took several weeks but I was not sure if it really took that long or if they suggested it may take that long?

PLEASE put it on the flyer. I've seen some pretty upset players when they arrived to find their division was playing different tees than they practiced or expected.

By the way, there's no requirement to offer 3 divisions. March Madness has only 2. USDGC, 1. Just be sure to be clear on the flyer.
