Couple questions...
What is the date for this? I see its listed as the 30/31 of august on pdga calendar but the weekend before 23/24 on the oak hollow website.
Also curious if the rumors are true that the temp course might not be used.

would be nice if it was the 23/24 so we can have our TRADITIONAL LABOR DAY WEEKEND for Hickraw
stack
May 19 2008, 01:30 PM
reason I ask is because in the ncpoints series they have Slappy's Revenge @ Albemarle the 23/24 so it kind of can't be that weekend and you guys (hickraw) on 9/6-7
I am also really curious about festival park layout... have never had the pleasure to play this course and this is the main reason I personally would be playing.

Stack (and others). Andrew and I played a couple rounds with a friend from Albermarle Saturday. Slappy's has been pulled from the Schedule. There may be an event to take it place. a couple of guys from albermarle along with Andrew and I will be working on something. More Details as we work them out. it will be at a course that has never held an PDGA event.

Sorry for the SPAM, but I wanted to get the word out about the Sontag Open to our NC neighbors. I'll keep it short. Sontag disc golf course is south of Rocky Mount, VA and just a short drive from Greensboro, High Point and other NC areas. It is 7000' from the white tees, with elevation and sick par fours. I highly recommend it and welcome y'all to the Sontag Open in thirteen days.
PS--It's common knowledge that VA golfers suck, so come on up and take some easy money!

Nikki and I will be at the Sontag Open. You guys should come up. It's a tough course but fun. The people are pretty pleasant too. It'll be a good time. It's a good challenge for you technical course seekers.
Also, how quickly do you think we should register for the Oak Hollow Open? Do alot of women usually come out?
tyson99duke
Jul 08 2008, 11:04 AM
Oak Hollow will fill this year and generally in the past we have had 3-4 women come out, but this year is going to be different with the emergance of the women in the High Point Area.
When registration opens you should get your money in. We will let you know and see ya at Sontag.

It will fill without a doubt. Just a few years ago before Festival was added and they ran both an Am weekend and Pro weekend, the am side always filled and the pro side usually drew 50 to 60. All of this at Johnson Street. One of the best courses in the state when you factor in all of the pad and pin placements.
Looking forward to heading back home for another Super Dave spectacular.

Anyone wanting to camp or need a place to stay....
I have aquired an empty rent house from a friend for the weekend. It is less than 10 minutes from the course, is private, has hot water, shower, toilet, a couple of bedrooms, a refrigerator and it is empty at this time. It's not the ritz but it is clean and has a bunch of floor space and a ton of room for tents or campers. You will need a tent or mattress for the floor, a towel, toiletries and food/ drink.
There are a lot of limbs cut down and piled up for a bonfire, so I figure that may be the place to be saturday night, even if you are not sleeping there.
Email me at oakhollowdgc@triad.rr.com to reserve a spot and to get directions. I will have some directions printed out at the tournament.

The blue tees are the best layout out there, however, I'm sure most people will want to play the championship layout since its the new one.

what layout for dubbs?
Doubles will most likely be blues- based on time, and play for cash. i dont know if eddie is running it or another local. Be there at 6 pm with $6 and have at it.

Ed Williams and Sean Gerry were out today, doing some clean up at lunch. The entire Club has pitched in this year and the product of our hardwork is going to be sweet! Blues, would be my vote since not all divisons will be playing the new layout. Hope I can make it out tomorrow night.
Now, back to Fantasy Football Research.

Great event, I love going to OHO. I just wish I could shoot a good first round there and follow it up instead of always starting off in the hole :)
Thanks to all those who made this event possible. Congrats to Schweb and all the other winners and placers.
See everyone at DEPC

Yes, it was a great weekend. It started with doubles friday night, then on to the tnmt on Sat. Great day, competition feirce in the GM division. After all the Geritol,Viagra, Motrin, and all the seepage stoppers. Congrats to Dave, he never folded and held on to all the chasers. Then to the players party hosted by The Wiggins, other than disc golf, they win at hosting also. What a great time, and show of how many positions one can get in, in extreme putting. I think Special Ed and Shur won the extreme putting, or, was it those of us that got to watch...LOL a real LMAO. The putting contest was close btw JJ, and Shur with Shur prevailing. AM Putting was tight btw Guarentee Gabe,or Torpedo Andrew, with Gabe by 1 point. If you never seen Torpedo Andrew putt at 50 mph, you missed it. A real chain Banger. Great BBQ, and thanks to the Wiggina family for hosting. Sunday rounds finished with close competition in all divisions except for TThe Pro's division which appeared to be decided on Sat Good Job Soopwer Dave, and Tater, and clean crew, and all whom helped. Oh Ho #10, was great. Players missed the Temp course, but that will come later. Mini Thumber, holds a commanding lead in the Bagger cup :p, and is co-leader in the H ;) ;)ters Cup...LOL
Jerry and Wyatt you may now sleep.....LOL

Thanks to Super Dave Gilstrap for running 10 OHO's. It been a lot of fun thru the years. Thanks for your commitment.
Also special thanks goes out to the OHO GRounds Crew. The course looks super sweet- thanks, for the mulching and trash pick-up and al the little things.
Thanks to HP P& R for the ice, trailer and mowing.
Looking forward to making more putts- (maybe oneday), Congrats to all the winners and Swcebby especially. We had many first timers and that should be good for the sport. Hopefully they will continue to enjoy playing and start traveling to other tourneys.
Also thanks to my wife, and the Wiggins Players party.

Rocky, the extreme putting contest you spoke of was teams. Sjor / David Jr. against Special Ed / Andrew. From what I hear it ended in a tie. They had to stop for the real putting Contest.
Rocky That was some good shooting you did this weekend. Remember David Has a private Disc Golf Course.
Congratulations David. What a way to Return to the NC Am Tour
