Joe, It looks like you can move up & play the SNPC...go here to read the SN players handbook. (http://www.sndg.org/snhandbook.html) . The only problem is it's the same weekend as the HOTT tourney at the Snow Farm. :p
I'm not sure which one I'm going to.
You'll probably get a faster reply by emailing your question directly from their website.

I believe this is how it will work.

The invites will go out to the top points Pros to register, then there will be a deadline for them to do so.

After that deadline passes, anyone with SN Pro points can register. After that deadline passes, usually one month before the tourney, it will open to all players with SN points, AM or Pro.

So, the answer is yes!

As of today (8/20/08) there are 5 Pro Women and 2 Pro Master's Women registered. Come on ladies! The courses are great, the hosts are unbelievable, and the payout will be awesome!!! Last year they paid out $1195 to a Pro Women's field with only 5 ladies in it. That's an average of over $235/player.

The money is already there and it is just waiting on someone to come claim it. Will it be you? It could be, but not if you are at home!

If anyone that is qualified for the SNPC in Little Rock that is dragging their feet to sign up you are running out of time! As of this morning the list of pre-registered players totaled 103 with over a dozen more verbal commitments to be there. Good luck to all!

Justin Kreutzer - 205
Daryl Johnson - 205

I mistakenly thought Nolan got a spot since he didn't register in the 30 day window. The question at the end of the tournament was Devan, Justin and Daryl playing off for the last "2" spots. Daryl said he couldn't make it to the USDGC and declined a playoff with 2 players left and 2 spots the spots were given to Devan and Justin.

Darly Johnson gets the last spot, even though he isn't going. The spot doesn't go to the next player.

Payout wise there was $22,685 given out plus $400 for the skills/putting contests, plus $400 tournament ace pot. (a player generated ace pot was also available)

1st open - $2400
1st masters - $1720
1st grandmasters - $1300
1st pro women - $750
1st pro master women - $300

There were two aces all weekend, Pat Barnes of Mobile aced 14 red Saturday and had to split the $800ish ace pot with Kevin Pelton of Shreveport who aced 2 Blue (his last hole of the final round).

Non-cash items was the $22 players pack which included a tournament tshirt and tournament stamped dx san marino roc.

Lunch both days, drinks on the course, a $600 players party. About $900 in ctps, and $500 in bag tag raffles at the awards.

The tournament went pretty well and hopefully everyone had a great time.

Mistakes that were made, I take all the blame...

1. The basket positions Friday weren't in the Saturday positions. Saturday there were players throwing at the incorrect spot (in my defense I knew this at the players meeting and did announce that players verify the hole based on the hole diagram printed on the back of the scorecard)

2. The confusion with the USDGC spots, I should have had a better understanding of the process.

3. The payout in all the divisions was top heavy. It was pointed out after the payout was posted Sunday morning, but at that point I felt it was too late to adjust and chaulked it up to lessons learned. (maybe it's never too late and the payout should've been adjusted)

4. There was a 3-way tie for the last payout spot in masters (everyone was bailing after the fourth round and at least 1/3-1/2 of the players that cashed wanted to get the payout so they could get on the road) I erroneously paid the entire $80 to Mark, Dieter pointed out the error and he was taken care of but Alex Hughes, I owe you $27.00

Any comments and critiques are welcome, I have to talk to the rest of the club, no one has stepped up to host the 09 SNPC, we might take another shot at it....

Oh and thanks to everone that came, 145 players showed up, the previous record for attendance was 119 when it was in Memphis in 2002.

But what if DJ wanted to go and could? He earned it, I didnt play well enough to get it. Its my fault, Cant blame anyone else. SNPC was a fun tourney! It was run fairly smooth and everyone seemed to have a great time. I will be back next year!

Actually as part of the endowment program all the PDGA fees ($290) was matched and $580 will be donated to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Burn Unit to support Camp Smile. The PDGA sanctioning fee was paid for by Addie Isbell who works for the PDGA now but has some sn roots, as her sponsorship for the SNPC.

I'll have the rest of the info submitted to the PDGA asap. Thanks to Chris Jaskolka of Huntsville for filling out 95% of the pdga td report for me Sunday.

Also the final six isn't posted but here's the scores below: 1-719ft; 2-390ft; 3-277ft island hole; 4-400ft; 5-390ft; 6-720ft

Chuck..... Simmer
It was sanctioned and I would like for it very clear the SN tour is a family of passionate people with the same goal.
Simplifying the goal made for a successful tour/event. That is what the PDGA should take a lesson in.

It's not the PDGA you're talking to but apparently all of the TDs and volunteers who run PDGA events. Hopefully, you're taking your experiences from the SNPC back to your hometown TDs to improve what you feel needs improving in events held in your area.

Maybe the PDGA should look at the payout and think of trying out something similar!

They take 42 from each entry and put it towards this event so why can't we take out $1 and put it into worlds so it actually means something and the players outside the lucky few can break even?

cgkdisc

The PDGA already takes more than eqiuvalent of $1 out when you consider the cost spent on staffing, stipend and producing the DVD for Worlds.

How and why did you twist that around?
I said the pdga should take a lesson in simplifying their goals
NOT how to run an event
NOT how to take money and disguise it as added money going towards a championship.
And dont get me started on how my membership dollar, sanction fees, and player fees are broke down and utilized for the sport.
I have never seen a break down and dont care to.cause just like the $1000 toilet seat used by our government..its need but $1000 for a $5 part?

the_kid
Sep 02 2008, 04:37 PM

So that means there can't be a $1 worlds payout fee?I don't see why the Pros front the cost of the DVD as we are just getting filmed it is the AMs who actually buy it.

Take a dollar out of ever entry which would be 100,000-125,000 dollars and put it into worlds over the money the PDGA already puts in!

Matt-O took home 2,400 with 2nd and 3rd getting over 1,000 and the entry was only $80.

Worlds on the other hand costs 3 times as much and the payout sucks! The percentages work out be more like a C-B tier and not a major.

If the PDGA would take $1 from every entry and put it towards worlds it would ease things up a bit and make the payout WAY better.

now thats funny! Take is the key word there!

The lesson to be learned is that fees can be collected and given back without having to support some of those costs. Pay for the DVD? I seem to recall Jonny B filming last years SNPC and did nothing more then ask how many would like one. It would seem foolish to pay for something that is in turn not making/paying for itself.

John and his crew did an awesome job of raising sponsorship and that is what helped boost the payouts. Not sure how much JK spent but he bought all of the drinks for the players on both days. THANKS!!!

As for it being a pDGA event, that has always been to maintain the ability to award the USDGC spots.

I heard that the SNPC was a PDGA C-tier. It seems to me that any kind of championship should be at least a PDGA B-tier.
Anyway, it was a well-run tournament. Thanks to John K. for doing it. I know there was a lot of hard work required! They definitely had a lot of water, Gatorade, and drinks on hand which was great. Thanks to the wonderful staff. I really like the spotters......when they raised a green flag for me. LOL Seriously, it was nice to have spotters on the island holes. By the way, the island holes were a nice touch!

If it had been a B-tier, they wouldn't have been able to donate to the charity. A,B,C, bottomline should be the payout and I'm sure you've been thinking of what to do with that $750! Good Shooting Karen!

Here's the link to the final results posted at the SN website with the payout included. None of the lunches or drinks are included in the payout.

Also props to Evan McKee and Trophies Unlimited for the very fine trophy discs, they were incredible, and the winners in each division got a metal mini that proclaimed them the winner for their respective divisions. Huge sponsorship from Evan who also came down from Ft Simth Arkansas to act as a spotter. Definite class act. as were all the players, thanks again. The players definitlely made all the work that went into the tournament worthwhile.

The payout in the SN series doesn't reflect just cash, it reflects the retail value of the players pack (thats were the $22 came from) also included were the ctps and prizes raffled off to sn bag tag holders at the awards ceremony.

The actual cost of the trophies is included, $20, but the retail cost of those trophies was $80 easy, also included in the first place winners total was the cost of the metal mini, $18, and the SN Bag tags given out ($20 each)

Not reflected is the cost of the food, Satudays lunch was provided by Downtown Deli as there sponsorship. 160 lunches with sandwiches, chips, and a cookie (I estimate the retail value at around $600) the pizza on Sunday, 60 pizzas delivered for $325, or the cost of the drink available throughtout the tournament, @$300.

Sorry if you didn't get a players pack, I was at the registration table all day Friday and felt confident everyone got one, but some thing slip through the cracks...

____________________________________

yeah the numbers don't match up which was clarified in this email to the sn board.

As the SN treasurer I apologize to the SN Board. I made a mistake in regards to the SNPC. Instead of opening a separate account for the SNPC I used the regular SN account. This lead to several mistakes financially:
I kept a pretty good account of what went into the SN account for the SNPC, but Thursday and Friday before the event I hadnt given myself a solid number to be withdrawn from the SN account.

My intention was to withdraw more than what I would need for the SNPC, figure out the math then re-deposit the rest due to the time constraints on Friday before the event.

Instead of trusting my numbers I had I attempted to work the account in reverse. What should have been in the account was:
1. SN fee collected for the 08-09 season
2. 08-09 Bag tag money collected so far
3. SN Board money left from the last season.

The number left over was given to Jeff Haydel who helped me figure the payout for the SNPC. What happened was too much money was paid out at the SNPC. From my figures I think the SNAC was shorted $281.75 (see below), I failed to add several tournament s from the 08-09 season that had paid to the figure I gave Jeff. I was $458 short in the figure I supplied. I believe the SN account had built up @$500 in overpaid sn fees over the last 3-4 years in fees paid by the TD for novice and jr players and the money left over from last years $ .25 that I didnt account for. After the tournament in reimbursing my expenses I was short about $500 dollars. I still cant account for all the extra money, the money I was short was about the same as the sn fees short that was paid. I do believe that about an extra @$740 from the sn account was used for the SNPC, the money shorted to the snac and the extra surplus/unaccounted money in the account.

The SN account does have what it should have in regards to 08-09 fees, 08-09 bag tags and 07-08 SN board money left over, and thats broken down below. The accounting errors were my entire fault and again I apologize. Lessons were learned and if we do get the 09 SNPC in North Little Rock, I will open a separate account. Im still willing to be the SN treasure but if the board feels that the mistakes made were too much and wish to pass that task on to someone else I understand.

If the extra money that was put into the SNPC need to be paid back, thats the boards decision, but in my defense in that regard the money did go to the players.

Other mistakes that were made at the SNPC:

1..Baskets Friday werent the same as the positions Saturday.
2..Some confusion in regard to the USDGC spots (all has been resolved)
3..Payout was top heavy in all the divisions
4..The payout for last cash place in masters was messed up (there was a 3 way tie and all was paid to 1 player who left before the awards, all parties have been taken care of)

I'll do better next year if we get the 09 SNPC.
