no one knows but they said that it is not a long distance challenge; my guess is that we are going to throw from #3'tee on Parkshire to hole #18 on the Shire :D ; I heard that it is 2 regular 18 hole rounds though. Daniel has been talking about the 100th hole tournament for a while and thank God its not that. :D

super D contest : D stand for DIZZY this is off the discnation website when you click to sign up for the event.
"Super D Challenge - (Everyone will have one try) I have come up with my own contest that will leave people rolling on the ground, literally! The rules are as followed: Everyone will run to one end of the playing field, grab a bat, spin around 10 times, run over to a disc and putt before the horn goes off. (This is a timed event so if you dont get your putt off before the horn, youre out!) When and if there are any winners, I will award them something SUPER"

The Quickie
Twin Parks Country Club -- Dripping Springs, Texas
Saturday, May 31st
PDGA Sanctioned C-Tier Event
The Quickie is a one day C-Tier PDGA sanctioned event held at the prestigious Twin Parks Country Club in Dripping Springs, Tx. Here are a few important details about the tournament that will help you get ready.
FORMAT:
This is a one-day, two round tournament. Registration fee varies by division & appear in the pull-down list below.
Tee Times:
The first round will tee-off at 9:00 AM, with a mandatory players' meeting at 8:30. The second round will start 2 hours after the final card is turned in from the 1st round.
Plus, Loads of Fun Contests
Vegas Style Ace Pot This is a rare occurring ace pot theme that Brother Leon has introduced. Heres the scoop on Vegas Style During check-in and sign-up everyone will have a chance to gamble with their money and their skill. If the tournament ends without an ace being hit, every dollar put towards the ace pot that morning will be counted as one throw towards the CTP at the end. (So if you put in 5 dollars and your friend put in 1 dollar, you would get four more throws than him/her, but if the ace is hit, you will lose 4 more dollars than him/her.)
Super D Challenge - (Everyone will have one try) I have come up with my own contest that will leave people rolling on the ground, literally! The rules are as followed: Everyone will run to one end of the playing field, grab a bat, spin around 10 times, run over to a disc and putt before the horn goes off. (This is a timed event so if you dont get your putt off before the horn, youre out!) When and if there are any winners, I will award them something SUPER!
Ring of Fire (Also free) All donations will go towards the ring of fire. If you dont know this one then you havent played enough tournaments.
Driving Accuracy Challenge There will be some bicycle tires wrapped in tin foil hanging off a tree, if you can go through one of them, you will win something sweet! (Oh, its tasty alright!) (Guess what,..its free to try)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- There must be at least 3 players entered to support a division.
- The Quickie is a PDGA Sanctioned C-tier Event
- All Entries include a $2 PDGA Fee, a $5 Country Club Fee, and a $1 Tournament Fee
- Non-current PDGA Members must pay an additional $10 fee. To avoid this fee in the future, have your membership created or renewed by either visiting the website at PDGA.com or by filling out a form the day of the tournament.

Thanks for posting Chris and Erron. I just got my credentials last night. I am working on getting flyers produced so I can distribute them at Conroe, and mini's around Austin.
The driving challenge will be worth a gold membership at TPCC. I was going to give away a "BLD" (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) for the Steady Ed Grill but its not currently operating at this time.

Hey Joe, thanks for reminding me of the 100 holes of hell. I will have to set that up this year. I always wanted to play 100 holes in one day. Who would be crazy enough to tee off before the sun came up and play all day? I know I would..... I would have to talk to the PDGA about this so I can ensure a rating for this one day B-tier. I am hoping to learn alot from the Quickie so I can perfect my tournament throwing capabilities.
And yes the 100th hole would be either from old hole 9's tee box from the hill at TPCC to 16's basket or from #13's box at Pease Park to hole 4's basket. Talking about a hellacious hole to finish out on!!!

If they are willing to slave over a grill during the break at TPCC they could sell burgers and dogs and even snaw-se-gizs for a buck or two. or they could get real fancy adn provide chips and drinks for a full meal deal. After the Quickie, the next tourney in Austin is going to be at Bartholomew Park. (Lets not forget about the HOTT tour "Kyle Open 6/28/08" but not affiliated with the Super D Productions) I have picked July 12th and 13th for this potential "B" tier. Once I talk with Waterloo about this I will make it official. After all, they are the only one's that keep maintnance on the course. Thanks Waterloo

This sounds like its gonna be a blast. I was thinking about driving down and playin this, but having a 2 hour lunch break after the first card is turned in , makes me think it's not gonna be that much of a quickie. I have to be at work at 1am Sunday , and Im thinking it's gonna finish just a little bit to late. Who know's I do kinda feel a cold coming on cough, cough. :D

Hey treehunter, I can't promise anything but we plan on getting out no later than 6pm. I am allowing that much time so people can go get some food and be back in time. I will let everyone vote on the lunch intervals during the players meeting because it does sound a little long. Believe me though, after playing the hill, you're gonna want to take a good break. It is right at 8 thousand feet long. Well, we'd love to have you so I hope you can make it.
I'm leaving with a couple of guys after the Quickie and we're heading to D-Town for the Title disc open. We want to get out early!!!

I was out at TPCC today. You can sign up there if you want. There is still only one person signed up online so I imagine all you folks will be making me work the morning of huh? That's alright though, as long as a bunch of yall show it will be worth it.
Just so you know, The Open Division will be playing the Blues both rounds, ADV and INT will tackle the whites both rounds, and the REC and Women will have the ACE tees all day long.
The Shire is looking real nice. Lush green fairways and plenty of SHADE and seating areas. The wind has been above average but nothing we don't know well enough already.
The Hill is rugged so be sure to wear some hiking shoes and carry a couple of water bottles. Its usually windy out there so bring your stable ones to.
We will have water igloos on the course for refilling bottles.
Pay close attention to the rocks at the base of each basket becuase that is your direction to the next tee box.
I need a TD to be available Saturday if all possible. See, I plan on playing and I can't make a judgement call in my own division <ADV> so I need someone in ADV Master, ADV GrandMaster, INT, REC or OPEN that could call the rules. Even if there is someone that isn't playing and could be available I would be very thankful :) :)
Thank you all and I will keep you posted with my progress as this week gets closer to the Quickie! ;) ;)
Thanks,
Super D :p

Treehunter:
This course is very easy to find let me tell you. If you look on your map you will notice where Hwy 71 and Hwy 290 split North and West (SW Austin). That is what we call the Y at oak hill. You can't miss it.
From there it is exactly 11 miles! You can even count the stop lights to tell how close you are getting. When you go through the light at the Y, counting that light, it is approx. 1.4 miles past the 9th light (sunset canyon) on your left at the top of a hill. ( <font color="red"> </font> ) There is construction going on and you will notice a turning lane opening when you reach the top. HAYS COUNTRY ACRES ROAD. Follow that road to the left til you see the big game fence encompassing the property and a big iron sign that says "TWIN PARKS" and then you will know you are in disc golf heaven.
Is that to much?

Herndon, if this week goes well I will do a B tier in about 40 days that will be two rounds at Bart with the final at Circl C Sunday morning. I need time to talk to the right people but I have enough interest from all sides that I think it may actually work.
Still want to do the 100 holes of hell with me? I'm thinking of making it a open division only with a trophy only option for the AMs plus half off the OPEN entry fee for AMs. Confusing enough? It would be one hell of a day I tell you but if we are allowed to get a rating for as little as 13(?) holes a round then that would be seven ratings in one day!!!

Darn liberal media can't get anything right, "...good enough to qualify for the PDGA"
seriously, good job Micah, and Twin Parks, you guys are getting us out there in the media.

I didn't go to work til 3pm. I think I had heat exhaustion plus I was dehydrated. Sure was one HOT weekend but atleast we got to play some tough [censored] courses. I am going to try and make it to the KYLE OPEN. Hope to see you out there along with all the other ADV players.
Did you see your pictures on the internet, Josh posted them on the thread. Its from the first round because Leon and you were on the same card. Anyways, thought you should know.
