Sweet!

A quick scan shows OB on nearly every hole, Keith. Didn't buy enough rope, eh? Sounds like a good test for anyone heading to Rock Hill.

I think this is a great format for a qualifying event. If any of your peeps want to capture some video (and perhaps put together a story), this might make a nice "Road to Rock Hill" piece for a show this autumn. I think folks in your state will find an expenses-paid trip to the Championship something worth shooting for. Kick the idea around with folks if you get a chance.

Of the various ways state qualifying spots are alloted, I think this is probably the best I've heard. Simple, straight-forward, self-funding. I'd throw a few bucks into the tip jar for the TD if I came to play or spectate. Sounds like a lot of setting up.

Best regards,

Joe

Thanks Joe.

Actually only 3 areas use rope (1 splits 2 holes) so it's not as bad as it sounds on paper. The ob fences and string lines and roads already exist and making the course similar to the USDGC is EXACTLY what I'm trying to do - as it is usually totally different when a player qualifies on a "regular course" and then has to go to Winthrop where EVERY single throw makes you think.
I know Dawn will be filming some, and I'll put out the word to some of the other local "video guys" to see if they would like to do that. I'll keep you posted!

It takes about 1-2 hours to set up total and I'll be using the same layout for the pros in the 5th Event in the GSSS on August 2nd.

The Atlanta Open was going to be a test for the layout, but they only used 11 of the 18 holes and the par was 57 with Climo and Shusterick both shooting 49's.
I'll put up $500 bucks that no one shoots a 49 on this layout.

Got the videographer lined up, and he also has some other sweet Ga video, including an ace from tee to basket that I'll send along with the USDGC qualifier disc.

Congrats to Craig.

I'm looking forward to more about the video, Keith. I can hopefully follow Craig around a bit this fall and see how his tourney goes to help round the story out.
