My wife and I are planning a trip to New Mexico. Ofcouse, we do want to play some disc golf. Heard a rumor about an Alien Disc Golf Tourney at night in Roswell. Any info about it would be appreciated. Also, might make a stop in Las Cruces. Is there anyone on here that has been there or better yet, lives there?
How about posting some info on you're vacation plans?

heading to OR, WA, BC in early July w/ my wife... hoping to play as many courses as we can along the way so any recommendations are appreciated. Obviously I can see the list of courses on the PDGA directory but it just doesnt tell you which ones are 'must play' versus pitch and putts for newbies.

Trip is looking like Portland up the coast along the 101 to victoria... then vancouver... seattle... spokane and back to portland

I'll be watching for these recommendations, too. My husband and I are thinking about a WA and BC trip in July as well.

Does Scott Papa open up Dollywood to the public? Last time we were in the NW, Scott wasn't there yet.

not sure about the courses but the olympic peninsula outside of seattle is worth the trip in and of itself- some of the only temperate rainforest anywhere, hot springs, glaciers, the coast, etc,etc.- hoh river rainforest is one of the coolest places i have ever been.

Anita... when are you going? ... my wife and I will be there from the 4th-15th

Isn't snap disc up that way? do they have any sort of operation to go check out or is it more of an out of the basement/garage type of thing?

This site can provide lots of info about New Mexico. It probably hasn't been updated in a while, but it's got a bunch of contact #'s and course descriptions/directions.

I think Leo Sanchez is the guy to talk to in Roswell. I heard the course in Las Cruces is pretty bleak still, but it's another notch on the post. ;)

Cloudcroft, NM is a fun place to go in Southern NM. The permanent course in town is not all that great, but if you can make it in September, they will host the State Championships at a ball golf club. Really long Disc Golf lay-out that uses a lot of their ball golf course, plus several holes in the trees on steep slopes.

We will be there at the end of the month. I have the Cornhusker State Games to run the 19-20. My husband turns 50 on the 30th.

Thanks for the tip, Biscoe. Sounds like a must see!

Hey there! Just thought I would let you know that Dalaiwood is always open to the public. Come on out and have a blast. we also have 3 other courses out here on the kitsap peninsula all within 25 minutes of our course. Not bad for getting the first (Dalaiwood) in only 8 years ago. check out our website http://www.dalaiwood.com for more info and give us a holler for directions or anything else.

Thanks Scott. I don't know if you remember me, but I was at Am World in Cincinnati WAY back in 1996 with Julianna. If we make it up your way, Kim and I will be sure to get in touch.

I am very familiar with every NM course as I travel in NM apx every few weeks. I was in Las Cruces this week. I played the course on Monday 19th. The course is still in the 'installation' stages...no pads, no signs, etc. The course lies on a very, very rough area...sand, rocks, brush, and cactus rule. There is little elevation. Hole 18 ends away from hole 1 tee pad. The Cloudcroft course is short, but fun to play (has three tee pad designations). Also, near Cloudcroft is an object course at Mayhill. Grindstone Lake at Ruidoso is a nice course (go here). I heard that they were expanding it as well. Also, there is a seasonal course that is at Ski Apache (an exciting drive up the mt). Roswell is a nine-holer with two sets of tee pads. These are the southern courses in NM. I'm familiar with almost every course in the region if you have more questions.

Thanks for the info. We'll be staying at Balmorhrea State Park (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/balmorhea/) in West Texas on July 1st. Onward to Carlsbad Caverns (http://www.nps.gov/cave) for the 2nd and 3rd. Then two nights in Roswell for the UFO Festival (http://www.roswellmysteries.com/ufo/index.aspx?pk=1) , including the Alien disc golf tournament on Saturday night. We hope to end up somewhere close to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Any info. about a course up there could be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
