First five holes (for some reason) can be seen at
http://www.dgcoursereview.com/gallery.php?id=565&mode=gal
....though they really don't do it justice.
It didn't fill last year and I don't think it has often, though 70+ is not uncommon, and I'd suggest pre-registering just to be sure.
If you're practicing for a tournament, note this: There are 8 additional holes that are off in a separate area. Tournaments at Chapin sometimes involve different configurations for different rounds (original 18 in 1 round, 10 of those 18 plus 8 additional holes in another, etc.). You might want to confirm this with the TD and, if they're using these, arrange a local guide to show them to you. Several of these holes are a good bit longer than the original 18.

I never try to DQ anyone.
It's not my fault if players choose to not follow the rules.

Tournament Flyer says all 4 rounds from original 18. #17 will probably use alt basket placements and maybe a couple other holes, but the extra holes shouldn't be in play. Tourney Flyer (http://scdgo.net/2008_crooked_classic_flyer.pdf)
I like the extra holes, but the original 18 is awesome. I'm there.

Thanks, Jonas, for stopping my misinformation in its tracks. I think I missed the "original 18" on the flyer because it was in such large print.

I can't wait for this tournament! Crooked Creek is AWESOME, even though I rarely play well here in a tournament. This will be my first tournament back after a 1 month heiadous(sp), and first tournament as a married man. Better step up my games b/c my bills sure aren't slowing down!

Few of us sent money in...Anybody know a good camping spot for some nice, disc chucking disc golfers? We have been looking around the area, but seems Dreher Island is booked up for Memorial weekend. We are considering Sesquincetennial in N. Columbia, but wanted to see if anybody may have a better suggestion.

If it suits your needs, you're welcome to camp at Stoney Hill. We're 30 minutes from Crooked Creek, closer than Sesqui.
Benefits are that you'd have complete peace & quiet, and plenty of places to throw or putt if you've still got the energy. And it won't cost you anything (though we won't turn down donations).
Drawbacks are, if you're tent camping, the ground is hard, even where there's grass ("Stoney Hill"), and there are no hookups. If you're bringing an RV, you can park next to my house and have water and electricity, but no sewer hookup. I've one shower to offer (how many of you are there?), and if you're looking to go partying, we're a LONG way from anything.
Click on the link in my signature.
Otherwise.....if you camp at Sesqui, make sure you check the gate hours. Many South Carolina state parks lock up at 7 PM....and may not unlock until later in the morning than you need to get to your tournament.
Beyond that, I'm not familiar with other campgrounds in the area beyond those on Lake Murray, which are almost certain to be full this time of year.

Camp at Stoney Hill. How much better can you get? Peace and quite, alcoholic beverages allowed, and you are sleeping in the middle of a Disc Golf coursE!!!!

Hope this new course treats us better than Renny and The Web. Looking forward to learning some new lines.

It's sure to be gentler than those two courses. Throw with accuracy and precision and it will treat you just fine. I suggest being extra-nice to your discs the week before, so they'll be disposed to return the favor, kick kindly off the trees and avoid swimming.

Early forecast is for terrific weather this weekend. If it holds it should boost Saturday-morning registration. Wish I could play.
