I am looking for a midrange that I can use for anhyzers, and more importantly one that I can "float" to the basket from <150ft. I have recently purchased an Elite X Comet and a QMS, and cannot decide between the two. Which do you guys think is the better one for what I'm looking for? I currently carry Rocs as my exclusive midrange, does one of these compliment the Roc better than the other?

Aviar P&A
I haven't tried the GW Magic yet ... but I've heard good things.
150 ft = [should be] putter range.
Just my 2cents

That comet should be fine but i agree with John that your favorite putter should be doing that trick. ;)

I use Wizards as putters and they just have too much fade to do the trick. And I meant to say about <250ft out, not 150ft.

I gotta' go with an "unconventional" choice. I know. I know. Chosing a non Innova, Discraft, Gateway, etc. disc will open myself to layers of criticism, but conscience compells me to do just that. That being said, my choice for the best disc to use for plenty of glide, or the holding of an anhyzer line is:
an Odyssey Mid.
There, I said it. I chose one of those oddball, crazy, 2 plastic, unconventional, etc., etc., discs from Quest AT. But before you go tying me to the stake and placing the gasoline soaked wood at my feet, go throw one. This is a quality "utility" disc. It glides forever. When I first started using it I would always underestimate how far it would fly as it slowed. It always seemed to glide about 10 ft. farther than I expected. After I adjusted to it's characteristics, it became my go to disc for low cieling, or anhyzer, or low power shots. Go throw one.
Odyssey Mid from Quest AT :D

How about a Z-Glide..... Name says it all. And for those whom doubt the AWESOMENESS of the Glide, Go find Justin Kerr and watch him throw his .... Amazing . Problem will be getting the fishing pole out of Justin's hands long enough
for him to throw..

Your Wizards should be fine, just throw them with some anhyzer and nose up, they'll nestle real nice.

Oh sorry, I didn't see where you said 250 and out. I like rocs, get a new rancho for a straight or hyzer approach, or an ontario roc for a smooth anhyzer approach.

QMS Aurora from Millenium. Think Roc without the bead - great for Annies.

First run Star Coyotes will hold whatever line you put them on if thrown between hip and shoulder height, and if you release them higher than shoulder height they will fall back slightly to the left and the end of the flight.

The answer is in your hands already. Just break in that Wizard some more! The more wear and tear it has, the less stable it will be. If you like your putter stable then buy a new one to replace it.

Could always just purchase a Warlock, or def. a Magic if he's looking for turn.
Classic Roc!! Or a D Buzzz. Both are perfect for anhyzers of hyzer flips when thrown a little stronger. A little effort goes a long way when using a Classic Roc.

Well a midrange with glide would include a Buzzz, Comet, Impact, Glide, and Meteor. All are straight to slightly understable and have a good amount of glide.

I think if you are going to follow scoot_er and his ideas you would look at the Impact or Meteor. I still prefer the Element. If you want a slower disc you definitely need to look at the Magic or in scoot_er's case the Putt'r. LOL scoot_er is now sponsored by Discraft and I am with Gateway so we are biased.

Try a Breeze. They are discontinued, but so many were made in Z plastic that they will be around forever. This disc is kind of a putter/mid hybrid and it is slow, understable, and glides great. Sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

While I'm not sponsored by Gateway it's all I throw, but biases shouldnt really come into the equation. I've spoken with many sponsored pros from all 3 of the big manufacturers and each one have said throw what is most comfortable to you, and what works for you. Besides, Gateway, INNOVA, and Discraft are just names. Names shouldnt have anything to do with a disc. I may throw discs designed by Gateway, but that's just coincidence, and it so happens that those discs work for me. I know some guys here in BG who throw exclusively INNOVA, but putt with Soft Challengers because that's the only putter that makes them comfortable.
Remember, a name is just a name, and a disc is just a disc regardless of manufacturer. It's all about what you can get the disc to do for you.
To the OP: Everyone here has listed great discs so my suggestion would be buy them all, or at least the top 3 that have been mentioned the most. Go out to an open field and see what you can do with them.

Again, to the OP: Pick and choose...
Buzzz
Meteor
Comet
Breeze
Impact
Glide
Stingray
Cobra
Element
These seem to be the most agreed upon that have the most glide. Pick the ones that appeal to you after checking them out on each respective companies webpage and then do whatever you feel necessary after that.

Agree and disagree. Players need to learn their disc, and what they can do with it, but if you dont experiment you hinder yourself. It's like telling a newbie who just bought a Destroyer or an XCalibur to make it work when we all know it wont. Not until he has developed the arm which may take a while. Heck, it took me over 2 yrs before I started being able to throw 400ft. +

a putter will be your best predictable disc for this situation, I understand if you are aprehensive in throwing one as an upshot. it took alot of field work for me to become comfortable throwing putter upshots.
During that time, I was using my spider. I would choose a higher trajectory and it would level out by the time it hit the ground so no roll=outs.
Newer products you may enjoy for this:
buzzz gt
ontario roc
qms (alittle more overstable at hgiher weights)
sabre
wolf

otherwise, I read a post earlier that said use what you have and make it work. That's great advice!
