With the Va Open in such huge demand, Turning it into a tourney that you need to qualify for would bring more golfers out for the other tournaments prior to the Open.

since it is the Va Open, then just using Va tourneys as qualifiers would help to bring some of the big names from other regions into Virginia a couple more times if they had to qualify. (we would see Moser and Schweb in Va at least one more time during the year)

there are several large tourneys state wide in the spring prior to the open that could all be used as qualifiers for the Va open.

Just my $.02 worth

To all of those that will be camping at the Grange during the Virginia Open; Please be aware that we have had record levels of rainfall this month. The ground is saturated and therefore very soft and will likely be this way throughout the event.

We expect well over 100 campers on-site during the weekend. To help us mitigate the effects that this combination will have on the terrain surrounding the campsites we need your help. Please come prepared for the entire weekend (extra beer and food!) so as to reduce the number of trips off-site. Ideally we would like you to stay put once you've set up camp.

If you had planned to leave your 4-wheel drive at home and cram everything into your small car on account of gas prices please re-consider. There's nothing more destructive to the property than a small vehicle that gets stuck. It's happened just in the last couple of days.

And last but not least; Obey all posted instructions and guidance provided by our parking staff.

---

There has been some movement on the waiting lists. Go to http://www.grangediscgolf.com for updates.

The waiting lists are valid until Midnight Wednesday, May 21st.

I will tell everyone I know in Texas that Virginia has one of the best tournaments I've ever attended.

I wish I could list the names of those I met who struck me personally, but that list is too long! It was a blast!

Mike...Thank you for being yourself and thank your wife and kids for loving you! You have created a virtual paradise for many, and I see why they love it the way you do!

I will never for get this weekend or any of you I played with, and if any of you need a place to stay while you're in Austin Texas just PM me through PDGA and I will help you.

First Thank you Mike, Jenny, Leo & Samantha, your hospitality is endless (and legendary!) I look forward to my visits to the Grange when I can make it! Best place in the world.

Second Thank you Bryan! It was a pleasure helping out this yearglad I could let you get that round in Friday with no worries that things were taken care of at Tourney Central. It was good fun in the Check In booth with you and Chris, although I dont want to stuff another bag in the near future. You do an awesome thing out there for us!

Third thanks to all the people I played with this year (essentially the same guys for all my rounds) Good times, lots of laughs (sorry I made you spit Gatorade through your nose Randy) and fun golf.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who had a hand helping out at this VA Open - it couldn't be done without you.

I hope I never miss a VA Open, because its absolutely the best! Kudos!

We thanked a lot of people and I'm sure we missed a lot. But there's one person I know we missed and he'd be the first to say "No thanks necessary"; John Biscoe.

John provided, as he and Deane have for many years, the beautiful trophies that the winners will proudly display.

On behalf of myself, Mike and everyone that is The Grange,

Thank You.

And thanks for taking the lead for two more years in Virginia. You have lots of support. Please call on it whenever you need it.

What was up with those qualifying spots for the Vibram Open?

3, don't think they trickle down but bryan or dodge would know better. i believe you also had to "opt in" beforehand to have a shot at a spot.
