Come one, come all to the Yadkinville Spring Tournament, the 26th and 27th of April '08. Hosted by the Yadkinville Disc Golf Club and TD'd by the inimitable Ben Porter. And just a heads up to you Advanced players, he might be TD'ing with all the "stuff" that goes along with that, but he has been playing some smoking hot golf lately. Maybe he'll have it out of his system before the tournie....... but I wouldn't count on it. You can signup using www.pdgasignup.com (http://www.pdgasignup.com) and link to the flyer through www.triaddiscgolf.com (http://www.triaddiscgolf.com)
Should be no surprises, just straight up good golf holes and good times. Might even be some good golf shots.

Been brought to my attention that the flyer states five dollars for non-pdga. Obviously should be $10.

No problem BWD. To really sample the length and breadth of Yadkin County Disc though, come up on Thursday or Friday, do a walk around to refamiliarize yourself with the park course for the tournie and then play le Cat, de Disco and Clockwork Orange, uhhh, 'scuse me, Borrowed Time, all different flavors of the same theme. The theme being "Build it, make it drive them nuts, and they will come", and it's corollary "They're all lefty holes.... aren't they?" /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif :D Gonna be a big time. Hey Y'all. I will be posting the pre reg list for the Yadkinville Spring Tourney this week sometime. About 30 have paid up, and I am aware of at least 20 or so more who have said they are playing. Hopefully we will fill up. Lots of good merch from Innova.... Anyway, we will be having a work day to smooth over the tee pads April 20th, thats 4/20, at 10 am.. We will still be having random dubs afterward at 2 pm. If you can make it, we need stiff garden rakes, shovels, etc. and wheelbarrows to haul rock dust where needed... Ben.

And you can feel good spending your money there. They've been a sponsor of almost every event we've ever had in Y'ville. I gravitate toward the Lexington style sauce on the side though. :D If you end up eating there be sure to tell them you are in town playing the Disc Golf tournament at the park and you appreciate their support and past sponsorship.

Killer time this afternoon wit de boyz back at Ramcat for the first time in three or four weeks. Dubs team of Ben and Bryant threw a no bogey -8 round punctuated with a birdie three on the long hyzer position on #18. Gaping Wide Open Ben Porter threw a blind, 120 foot plus parked uphill rhfh flick to get the three.
Conversation during the round - positions the baskets are in now are what they will be for Saturday, every basket that is moveable will be moved at the end of the 2nd round on Saturday, meaning only #3 will be in the same position both days. Tournie plastic was picked up Monday, Ben has this thing wired, come on over to see us, you'll be glad you did.:cool::cool:

Wiggins 13 y/o wins Advanced. They are born on the same day 1 year apart by the way. So if you want to be a good disc golfer try to be born on April 23rd.
Combined age of winners 25 + M. Johansen (28 or 29) and you might have a new "world record" for lowest combined age of the winners of the 3 major mens divisions (Pro, Adv, and Int) in a PDGA sanctioned event.

And Ben big, big, big ups on 2nd place finish and cash in your first of what I'm sure will be many Open Pro tournies. And while TDing the tournie. Pretty impressive dude. Nothin like good old southern cooking to make you throw a country mile.
I think it's the dedication. what other "Kids" or adults for that matter get up at 5:00 am in 20 degree weather to play disc golf and putt. Yes the Int. and Adv winners at the Yadkinville spring tourny. The last time Andrew and David jr had a sleep over in cold weather it cost Andrew a Roc, It took him all night to work out a trade with David Jr. just to hit a tree with it and crack it down the middle.

Man, I've been looking for collard greens everywhere since you said that, but no-one sells them here, too stinky they said. And believe me, us Arizona boys are dedicated. You try going out and playing in 120 degree heat, the discs dont hit trees and crack, they hit trees and just melt around them. And that's in the winter!!! Thats a sight to see! :D
Cash, he told me :-)
And Wyatt, that collard greens stuff was a joke sort of. If those Arizona guys want to be like NC boys they need to be dedicated! You know, wax on wax off (but we do the hood, not the side of the car), collard greens 3 meals a day. but I'm giving away all our secrets now......

I'll bring some to Kalamzoo. I'm sure you guys are as dedicated. just love to have fun on the Message board.
We really have it nice hear in NC. We play 365 days a year. and 4 rounds a day on Saturday and Sunday.
Look forward to see you guys in August. Tell Nicholas I give him a rematch on the putting contest.
I think it was nicholas that I was putting with at Brown Deer. before his round started.
