I am a 960 rated player who has played many pro tournaments but has yet to cash. I renewed this year as a pro. Does this disqualify me from playing in AM tournaments?

Sorry. You signed up as a pro. You are ineligible for Am Worlds.
Maybe you could get your am status back if you called the office and talked to Gentry about it.

You may play as an Advanced player if your rating stays below 970, see the competitive manual (http://www.pdga.com/documents/2008/08CompetitionManual.pdf) for the quidelines. You may not play 'down' at any NT events though.

No one can play "down" at NT events, since there are no amateur divisions at NT events.

Down as in registered as a professional player playing in an Advanced division, and there are advanced divisions at NT events, aren't there? :p

At the NTs that seem to offer amateur divisions, the amateurs are actually playing in a seperate A-tier tournament. At that A-tier tournament pros rated below 970 can play advanced, below 935 intermeidate, etc. Those pros aren't playing down. They are just taking a break from playing up. :D
