Hey Dave, Do you have a photo of the basket already on the internet? If so, it is possible to add the photo link into your message.

Feb 28 2008, 02:35 AM
To get pictures on a website, copy and scan a picture to My Documents. Then go to a photo hosting site like www.Photobucket.com. (http://www.Photobucket.com.) Create an account, and click Browse. Find your picture, double click then press Upload. Once the picture is uploaded onto Photobucket right click, then go to Properties. Highlight, and copy the URL Address. Come here to the boards, and when you post go to Image. Paste the url address you copied from Properties.

Artwork sent! Question, if we already have a basket is it possible to receive the value of the winnings in other Gateway merchandise instead? If not, it's still cool. Could always learn to increase my putting accuracy.

It is a $400 value with the 25 discs. It will probably be $175-$225. Just a guess though.

My guess is that it is more in line with all the other practice baskets at $125...

Thanks... Dave can send me and extra basket and discs for that idea when he sends the ones for the design contest! ;)

Dave... truly revolutionary idea and I've said this before in other circles but I think this is possibly the next big step with our sport... 'training aids'. A buddy of mine created 'deflection boards' to be hung to make the basket narrower and/or force someone playing on that basket to either putt very precisely and/or place their upshot in a position where the boards arent blocking the putt.

We have received about a dozen submissions for the contest so far and several who have said they are working on something!

Deadline for submitting art is March 9Th, so there's plenty of time remaining.

Art can be text only or Graphic only, including hand drawn scanned images and I will even take concepts for those without art skills or resources for getting the designs in print!

WE think the Magic is a great new putter and want to have a REALLY cool stamp to go with!

SO SEND MORE ART PLEASE!!!!!

Now, take two things into account:
1. It is 20 in Flint, MI today.
2. I was only able to throw it 3-4 times during lunch.

I REALLY like the M Magic that I ordered. I ordered a few M and a few SS. I am going to replace a lighter Wizard in my bag with the M Magic for a tournament tomorrow. We will see how it goes.

So I love the idea of narrowing my aim for that practice basket. However I have to wonder...will it affect my overall shot? Will I start trying to go too light in order to not bounce off the chains? Am I getting ahead of myself? :)

Actually you can drill shots into these chains and they rarely ever bounce out and never spit through.
solid center hits STICK, theres not much chain action on impact!
Regardless if your throw is soft or hard, the trick with This new training basket is to be in the center ( hitting the pole).
The catching design of this target is so good that I could see using it for an entire course, especially private courses at $150 each!

the only real drawback is if you start trying to LOB the discs in instead of hitting the chains with your normal putting stroke!

The nose is blunt or flat below the parting line for about 1/4, then there is a radius that blends into a 3/16th" long flat line that is a 22 degree angle dying into a 1/32 radius into the bottom edge of the disc.
Its less HSS and less low speed over-stable.
ITS DEAD STRAIGHT RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX,,,,, like a 5 year old Wizard!
It holds a very nice turnover line and seems to have a Frisbee like Quality in flight, popping up from hyzer and hanging in the air for what appears to be forever.

..... INNOVA and Discraft could take a lesson in crowd participation :o:D:cool:

here's my outlook on this... Dave is a genius.

If you are going to get a stamp made and dont have an in-house artist then you would have to pay a graphic artist some sum to get a stamp/logo created. Probably around the value of the winners pack, I'd imagine. (My friend is a graphic designer, I'm going to ask him later roughly what his company would charge)

why not give away that money in merch?!? Not only does it stir up interest in your product on the board pre-release, I see it actually keeping Gateway's costs down. $400 in cash is different than $400 in retail merch. So, now Dave gets a sweet "user voted" stamp and someone gets Gateway products to throw at their local course. Maybe they'll show them to others who may only know the "big guys".

In the last two months I've shown my proto chalky Warlock and Assassin to a handful of peeps who had no idea anyone besides Discraft and Innova made bees. Sad, but true.

long story short, Dave, you are the man. You make the best putters around hands down. Now that I've been able to throw discs like the Diablo and Diablo DT, Inferno (which I know is kind of a joint venture between you all and Quest), as well as the Assassin, my bag is becoming full of new discs and I'm finding less and less room for the usuals.

Thanks. Keep up the good work.

You can just send me a buttload of cash and get the same outcome. I'll even come to your house to pick it up.

I putted on one during the Lewisville Open early this year. I think we were the first to give one away, Thanks Dave!!! :D

I thought it caught well. I didn't get a chance to throw anything longer than 20' or so. But it caught those well enough that's for sure.

Are you planning to sell more in the future? I checked on your web site and found no available. I would love to buy one for my practice needs.

Thanks

At the Ozark Open, I putted on one, and after my disc hit the chains, it fell into the basket and through the bottom!

I think it's a good practice target though to get you hitting the center of the chains everytime.

yeah we are making some steel bottoms that will correct that problem and make it more solid!

the basket is regulation size but not a Titan.
Titans are made of 1/2" steel
