I love playing disc golf on ball golf courses.

Is the layout going to be available pre tourney???

Feb 26 2008, 12:55 AM
Probably not, everyone will be playing it for the first time June 1st. Alot of paths, sand traps, water, and greens as OB, that make up for the lack of alot of trees. It also has some good elevation shots, nothing too extreme like Branchwood, but some rolling mounds and elevated disc golf greens. I was at the Branchwood tournament, we talked a little Treat, I have the digital camo Revo bag.

Yup, like I said the holes are pretty open but there will be plenty of OB. Yeah it's nothing like Branchwood, that course was made for disc golf. The Links will be fun though.

Hmmm...

Once I am a rich old white guy, I am going to have my own 8 course complex...it will be fabulous golf courses that are solely dedicated to disc golf...!

And there is going to be a government sanction so we can have our own crops and everything! A complete self-sustaining disc golf mecca! Full of those...

...what are those things called Travis? The crazy houses that are all super self contained and self replenishing???

Well anyway, I am going to build it right on top of Branchwood resort...!!!

And entry will be based on what you make a year and how much you can afford...and there are going to be deer and other cute wildlife around for us to enjoy, and those will all be specially trained to duck down and cover their little furred and antlered heads while we drive!!!

But more on that later...I have to get to class...

Bougher is wanting to go, lets get a second car full going to this. Screw the last round at Riverside, lets go play on a ball golf course! :D

No ticks, mosquitos, mud, poison ivy, thorns or schule!

This is a golf club so I would expect no denim and collard shirts will be required.

He should have been. I offered to let him drive the cart and caddie for me in the final 9 but he pulled one of those disappearing acts after his last putt and headed down the highway. :D

But he did step up and save Evan from the DFL position. :o:D

Yeah that was a lot of fun.

$50 Entry
$45 In Gas
Rain delays in the morning round.
Pencil whipped on the score card.
Kicked out of the clubhouse for drinking a beer.
Forced to wear a red WAFDA shirt the second round. (I hate red.)
Five or six disc lost in the water.

All so Evan can brag that he beat someone in the Pro Division. :p....Well enjoy it buddy because I just spent my Alma entry in Springdale. No more rain tournies for me.

Then I come home to find a big tree limb on my house. :(

Looks like Chandlerstock fees next year are going up. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

A lot of Fun???... some of it was. Overall, great layout, beautiful course, and fun times. I just wish I could of avoided the OB's. I had one hole the first round without an OB.HOWDY!!! Did better the 2nd round only had 4 OB's (3 circle 6's and a circle 4) good for a 45.

The only complaint....oh nevermind...not worth it.

It was cool to watch the final 9, got to hitch a ride on the back of Heath and Big Nics cart for that one...1 hand on the cart, 1 on the beer, and enjoy the show!!

Almost forgot...I got the pleasure of playing with Furdog and Evan for 2 rounds. What a blast that was, and Furdog almost got to pay me $5 for one of my shots. Almost skipped one in to hit the ace pot, about 2 inches too low, but hit the face mask. :D

sschumacher
Jun 03 2008, 12:04 PM
Yeah. That was a nice shot. I still owe you a dollar.

It was really nice playing on a golf course and the rain wasn't that bad until the 40mph wind, lightening, and drench part of it.

I almost avoided a DFL when you walked off but the DG Gods must have been looking over you to clear up the afternoon sky. That and I'm sure the thought and fear of me finishing ahead of you was good enough to bring you back for the second round. ;)

It was fun playing on a pro card when the people are as friendly as Penny, Ganzle, & Dason. I think Evan needs to be checked for steroid use next time though. :D

I'm glad I drove my own car. It must have been hell for you guys driving back with Wise and his big head bragging about his second place finish.

Pennekamp
Jun 03 2008, 12:10 PM
Yep...almost got a DNF. Although, I still don't agree with the ruling of our last holes. Everyone should have gotten to play that hole again. Oh well, take a 7 and move on I guess. I think I'll do some research and see if I can find any rules regarding that situation.

*edit*
Rule 804.04 "G"
G. A player who stops playing before a signal to stop has been given shall receive two penalty throws if, in the opinion of the director, the player stopped playing prematurely.

Interesting

sschumacher
Jun 03 2008, 12:35 PM
Well the only reason Kelly, Evan, & I continued was because we had to walk that way anyway. I ended up with a double-circle 7 on the hole with the small tornado on it. After that they called it just before we started # 12.

The thing is how long did it take for the TD to drive back to where we were at. If it took him 5 or 10 minutes to get back to us then we played 5-10 minutes after the horn. I know he blew the horn at the clubhouse but we couldn't hear it in the 40mph sideways rain where we were at.

I'll never forget the "I'm outta here." look on your face though. :D

Pennekamp
Jun 03 2008, 12:43 PM
When my safety and the safety of others is at risk, it is time to leave the course. He probably sounded the horn about 5 minutes earlier. Maybe he should of spent a couple more dollars and bought a real air horn. Chances are the rest of the field was stopped well before we even got to that hole.

"I'll never forget the "I'm outta here." look on your face though. "
I was standing there looking at the pin, watching the lightning around us, I turned and looked at Furdog and said "F this, I'm outta here". First time I ever walked off, there was no convincing me to stay, thats for sure.

It was very questionable sustaining play that long. The TD should of stepped up and postponed play about 3-4 holes earlier, imo.

sschumacher
Jun 03 2008, 01:30 PM
Well I wasn't worried about the lightening because you're taller than me. :D....I agree though. There was lightening well before we ever got to that hole though.

mtreat
Jun 03 2008, 01:43 PM
Those lightening calls are tough to make. I had to suspend play during the Riverside Glide last year on Sunday morning.

I think we should suspend sooner rather than later. I am always thinking people will be mad at having to stop. Usually the opposite is true and they are glad the call was made...

To err on the side of caution is far better than to loose a player on the course to weather.
