Darn near all of them we have. As to which courses are to be played for which divisions, that hasn't been finalized, and probably won't be for a while. And no, I don't know exactly long a "while" is. Sorry. Heck, even Kalamazoo hasn't finalized their lineup yet, and they're 12 months before us.
That brings me to one more important thing. We'll be developing a Worlds website at some point, and that site is going to be designed to answer these sorts of questions. It's unlikely we'll be using this message board very often, except perhaps as an announcement-only sort of thing. Sorry, the MB is not a very focused way to get the important info out there, and often the important info gets buried or lost in all of the replies. We MAY try and do a moderated forum here....it's something we've sort of briefly talked about (more like brainstormed) but haven't totally thought out yet. It would be like an FAQ. We'll have an FAQ section on the website as well. In the future, we've talked about getting a dedicated Worlds hotline phone number to answer any questions over the phone (it's nice when one of the Co-TDs works for T-Mobile). Trust me, we'll get the info out there when it becomes available.
In the meantime, feel free to check out as many of courses as you can this year. The Wide Open is in early June, and while the pins will not necessarily be in 2009 Worlds positions, it will give you an idea of our courses. Oh, and our courses are great. :)
Also, if any 2009 Worlds info doesn't come from Jack Lowe or me, or isn't on our website when we get it operational, it probably isn't official and shouldn't be trusted. Keep that in mind. Jack and I will always answer phone calls and emails. Private messages on this site work fine also.

PDGA determines the invites every year, so I can't give you a precise answer, and they can't either until next February. However, the last 2 years, 1000 points was enough to get you an automatic Worlds invite in the Men's Advanced Amateur division. Hope that helps.

The KCFDC website (http://www.kcfdc.org) is the place to find info before the 2009 Worlds website is active. The forum there is much more active than this page.
The big ones you'll want to worry about, due to complicating factors of terrain and/or distance: Water Works, Blue Valley, Wyandotte County (WYCO), and Swope (note: Swope is rarely in the Gold layout, aside from the KCWO and Worlds). The others aren't necessarily easy but have less radical elevation and generally less distance. There may be a couple new courses by that time.

The KCFDC.org forum does have some banter on it, but again, if it doesn't come from Jack or me, it isn't official and shouldn't be trusted, even though I know Steve (euphersteve) means well. Truth is, I don't know that Swope will necessarily be in the Gold layout, nor will every course we have necessarily be in their longest layouts. We haven't made those sorts of decisions yet. We'll let you know when we do.

Here is something that is official......Its from me, and John says that makes it a fact!!
:)
Steve is a fine guy as well, and John is right, we are at best still Sgt. Schultz with many items, and only Hogan has an idea in the underground tunnel what the plans are that will surface.
This is the first item that is official.
Westin Crown Center will be the Host hotel for the 2009 Pro/Am Worlds.
www.crowncenter.com (http://www.crowncenter.com)
Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Crown Center is often called a city within a city. Three levels of great shopping and dining compliment two of the citys most luxurious hotels, exquisite office buildings, a residential community and several entertainment attractions. It all surrounds the worldwide headquarters of Hallmark Cards, Inc. Bring your family and your imagination for an unforgettable visit to Crown Center.
You will need to ask for the Disc Golf Rate (Kansas City Flying Disc Club or Disc Golf World Championships should suffice), the dates that we have blocked for the Hotel are from Sunday July 26 to Sunday August 02, 2009.
The Host hotel will have the following plus many more items of fun and entertainment as we get it all together:
Check In and registration
Players Meeting
Fly Mart
Tournament Central
PDGA (Banquet?) Awards
It is an awesome property, there is a mall connected, there is the museum across the street, and many other amenities. Ask for the Disc Golf Rate during this time, I believe that you will all enjoy a high class of standard that will truly create an experience of WOW!
The room rate is $134 night for single or doubles, and suites are $350 and up. The normal room rate right now for the property is $289/night, you will not be dissapointed.
Sign up now, and do not miss the chance to be a part of the best worlds ever.
More information will be provided as we move forward, I just wanted to get this information out for those that have asked. Yes I have received about 10 calls already asking me about this information.
Dates are set, hotel is set.

Meeting at River Market Brewery on Tuesday March 18th at 8:00 pm.
This will be a meeting to start out with the planning of all World's related tasks.
We need to have over 100 volunteers, and will need them at all times, so if you can only manage to help for 4 hours during the event, guess what....you can be part of the "World's Staff" that will also allow you to be a big shot in your neighborhood! What else can you need?
I will be working on an Agenda, but we will limit these meetings to 1 hour initially.
River Market is located in the River Market area of Kansas City (North of Downtown, South of the River), at 5th and Walnut.
Please pass along this information to those that you feel appropriate.
Thanks,
Jack

I have played at Events that Boulevard has sponsored, and they gave a keg to the tournament. Lots of fun, although, Worlds would be a lot of kegs... But it would be cool if they would do something for this event in Kansas City.

They sponsored the 1st Twisted Flyer annual and brought the Boulevard Ford Ranger to the tournament. The truck had beer on tap pouring out of the back of it along with a killer sound system and TV in the back also.
They have been a good supporter of disc golf in the past and would probably hop (pun intended) on board

I'm looking forward to playing my first worlds in KC this year. I've been studying any KCWO video I can get my hands on. I really hope I get an auto-invite from PDGA, I think that's the only way I can convince my wife that I "need" to be there.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!

The KCFDC executive board is meeting tonight, and one of the topics of dicussion will be firming up dates of '09 tourneys, so perhaps soon the dates will be known. The first sanctioned tourney of the season in KC is usually the Kan-U-Wyco in Bonner Springs, Kansas in early to mid March.

there is not camping at swope. There is really no camping within the city. You will really need to travel far to get to the courses from the available camping sites. Kanas city has more miles of highways than almost any other city.
My suggestion is to get more people and stay at the host hotel. Everything will be centered around the host hotel and the events will all be within it. It may cost a little more, but you will not have a better time somewhere else.
It is afterall worlds, and you want to have fun, you can camp any time, you can only get to the worlds, once a year, and you will only be able to get to the combined worlds in KC once.......you don't want to miss it.

For Ams, it looks like the schedule says we'll play:
Prarie Center
Shawnee Mission
Wyco
Blue Valley
Black Hoof
I think I heard some of these might be subject to change, but not sure.
I was just wondering if that was right for now, and what/where is Black Hoof?
In KC for new years and plan on playing a new course, Black Hoof and Shawnee Mission are the only courses I haven't seen or played yet.

You are correct sir. HOuck is working on that design. It will be done this spring, thats right you get a new Houck course for some of you.
No word on the busses yet, but we hope to have that added to the entry form when we secure the pricing.
Kansas City does not have a lot of places to camp, we have more highways than most any other city, and we have suburban sprawl that has taken away most camping areas. The closest place would possibly be Lake Jacomo, but I am not even sure if they allow camping during the week.
Will have this information posted as we go.

Sub-par in KC, is still head and shoulders above most any other courses. People here haev their faovrite, but pound for pound you will not find a better selection of courses to choose from. The only items missing from our courses are as follows:
Mountains
Variety of Water shots
Ocean views
Golf carts
Manicured greens and fairways.
Having played close to 400 courses, I can attest that you will not be dissapointed, even if you feel as though these are not the "top courses" for your adv field, they will nonetheless be awesome courses that you can haev a blast playing on.

No, the only place that may see rope would be for the galley on the finals at Blue Valley, we will not be putting in that extra work on our staff, so the courses are going to be as you see them. THere may be some OB areas (Swope) that we have yet to decide on.

Kind of disapointed to not be playing waterworks . But I'm sure Black Hooff will be great if Houck is designing it. Plus I'm sure since he's is consulting on the other courses he'll add a few of his trademark tweaks to make the courses even better.

Busy busy for sure....I'd also like to thank the Memorial, as the room rates there were $15/night more than our host hotel, and I am glad to see that others realize that having a host hotel that makes sense is sometimes better than worrying solely about price points. If I could of found a place that was better priced and fit our needs you bet I would a jumped on it.....
We should have some good information within the next few weeks.
