Ok, the 11x is becoming expensive, and I haven't thrown a 12x yet......any thoughts on one versus the other especially in max weight?

Buy a bunch, so when KC wins again ... YOU can make some $$! ;)

What mold is the 12x and how does the flight compare...did they change any of that stuff or just the stamp.

Cheers,
Matt

Good question for the "ask Dave D" thread. I doubt if anything has changed, but it's possible that it's the plastic, not the mold that makes them different (I don't throw 11x or 12x ... so I really don't know) ... Ask Dave D!

I find the plastic and the 'feel', at least concerning the 1st 12x runs, to be different. Perhaps later runs of the 12x's will be more like the 11x. But if past practice holds, the runs are never exactly the same, whether by perception or actuality.

Not all 11x's are the same either. If there is more than one run in a series, they seem to feel a bit different. Same goes for the KC Pro Aviars, let alone most other discs in general. The KC stamps just makes it easier to visually show a difference. About the best thing to happen to traders and ebay sellers would be for Ken Climo to win a few more titles.

Oh, and a word of advice I'd give to anyone starting out with these would be to buy and try out the current model. The feel between runs is different, not necessarily better. If you fall in love with a particular run, you can stock up on it. But getting hooked on a disc that you can't replace without forking out $50 on eBay may be hazardous to your wallet and sanity!

On the bright side (and as stated above), if you do fall in love with a current run and stock up, there's a good chance your spares will be something others will pay $50 for after a few years. As long as the mold stays popular, people will want a particular out-of-production run. As an example, I have a couple of old 8x Rocs and old Cyclones from the same time period. The Rocs would fetch a good price if I was selling, the Cyclones are worth probably less than what I paid for them.
