This is by far one of the best tournament I have ever played. As we saw on another thread it is hardest to cash in Cali so no come find out.

Watch out for that little creek that snakes all over the course. Last year I threw it in there 5 times and lost by 5. Something like that.

OK, so I lost by 7, so what. J. Michael Barry is playing Open this year.
This year we have a very good field.
Looking forward to seeing Steve Welk.

Every cashing streak I've ever had has ended at this course. Maybe I was just lucky last year.

On the flyer it says two rounds of 24 on Saturday! Any idea on whether the regular 18 will be in short positions (to increase flow)? And I assume the Sunday design will be all long? And will the 6 extra holes on Saturday be the short dink-and-dunkers in the wooded area?
Looking forward to my rookie Pro Master PDGA event! :o Now I can officially get my arse kicked by Oates in the same division... :D

The pins are always set long for all the rounds.

Thanks Mitch! The back-up on hole #5 will be BRUTAL!!! I can recall last year during the Sunday round (with tee times) there were up to 4 groups waiting on that hole! It's a fun disc golf hole, but takes a lot of time due to the difficulty...
I might bring along a chair this time... ;) :D
Cheers,
Steve

Hey Mitch,
Do you know if the course is set up long yet? I'm gonna come out tomorrow and practice some holes.

I should say "they always have been" rather than "they always are" but I am assuming they will all be long like they have been since they have been able to stretch the course with new pin placements. The wait on 5 can stall the round 20-30 minutes though. That is the one drawback. Don't you just love those holes? You cool down forever and then get to throw a tough hole with 20 guys watching! I just hope I don't bogey 4 so I get to think about it that long! My elbow always twinges a little once I throw after cooling down for half an hour.
I don't know if they are set long yet. I was going to go out today but couldn't. I will be there tomorrow but that won't help you Matt since you will probably already be there!

I was out there today and ran into Bruce. He says they're set up now how they'll be for the tournament. I also saw Jim Oates who said it would be 22 holes for the first two rounds. (the flyer says 24 holes--I guess we'll see.)
The only holes I recognized as not being set in the positions I was expecting were hole 3 (set left), hole 5 (not as deep as it could be), hole 6 (set to the right) and hole 14 was not deep.

Yep, 3 left is long. Most people think that is easier though. Same thing for 6. I'm glad they won't be using long 5 'cause like Steve said it creates a huge backup. Surprised that 14 was not in the long, it makes it a much more fun hole for me.

Things COULD change for Sundays 18.... /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Longer 5 & 14 might be saved for then... /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Right - I meant deeper. I birdied it in the short and fived it in the medium. :(

For what it's worth, I'd like to apologize to my group and to the other groups who were affected for my behavior on hole 7. I loudly slammed the chains after making a putt. It was a knee jerk reaction to another players behavior, but there is no excuse for it. He cleaned out prematurely without asking and loudly slammed the chains leaving me with a 30 footer and a vibrating basket. For a brief moment I let myself stoop down to his level of unsportsmanlike conduct and that's just not how I role. Kevin, Mitch, Soren, and Miles, seriously... MY BAD.
