Won't these things be toast after one or two tree hits? How do the dx wraiths hold up?

I'll let you know in a couple of days. DX Wraiths 150 class, toast after one hit although they are then loooong turnover discs; DX TeeRex 150 class hold up very well; DX Destroyer, jury taking a break before deliberations. :D

I just got back from throwing my brand-spankin' new 150g DX Destroyers in the pourin' down rain. Sample size = 80 throws with 10 discs.

This DX blend was a little slicker & slipperier than I had hoped, but they are brand-new & it is sopping outside. Stability-wise, they seemed to me quite like an out-of-the box DX Destroyer (flattop Japan Open version, pretty darned overstable), but L-O-N-G. Hole #2 at Pratt Park (where I was testing) is usually about 80 feet outside of my range with a Wraith or TeeRex, but once I dialed in the S-curve, the DX Destroyer was within 20 feet pretty much every time, and past the basket a few times. I hope these beat up like TeeRexes & become Teebird-straight, because if they do, the Destroyer may become my favorite crush driver. Even if not, the distance alone will earn it a place in my bag for wide-open crushes (pretty much the only shots I use a Wraith or TeeRex for anyway).

Kudos, Innova!

my batch is in the mail. I cant wait to throw this disc.

If I throw them like their heavier counterparts be on the lookout for a few for sale in the coming days. If i throw them like I'm hoping lookout for a kid throwing bombs and taking names. :D

Ray--domey or flat?

veganray
Feb 14 2008, 01:32 PM
I just lined up a DX, Champion, STAR, & Pro. The Pro is the flattest & STAR the domiest. Champion & DX pretty much identical between the two. All four almost the same, however.

that's interesting about the pro. I've had 2 and both of them were MEGA domey. They were both the CFR ones from when they first came out

my stock pros have a large dome

veganray

In my view, all 4 have a large domes, just the Pro has the smallest of the 4 (by a hair or 2).

Oh my....... 150g DX Destroyers..... I'm a believer Ray. Only +/- 30 throws under my belt, but it gave me easily another 30-50 feet over my personal gold standard the 150g SOLF. Not going to be as broadly applicable until beat up a bit, but where accuracy is less important than distance.... it's gonna fly. Even with flat rips they went an incredibly long way before fading and skipping. Hole #18 Cranberry Disco, I'm coming after you.... :D:cool:

mine are not as tacky as my dx wraiths and teerexes unfortunately--much slicker dx blend. dome is nice and consistent. it seems to have a slight amount of texture on the top of the wing, wonder if this was intentional?

I wouldn't doubt it..... Maybe they are trying to improve the glide.

anyone else think the edge of their 150 dx is sharp, like knife sharp?... I just got mine in the mail, haven't thrown it yet, but just gripping the disc I feel like the plastic would cut me if thrown. Guess I'll find out.

It is just VERY heavy flashing; it'll sand right off.

yeah, i was going to touch it up before I threw it. I figured it might clean up, its just a sharper wing than I am used to, that probably has a little to do with it..

VR - the 150 Destroyers and Starfires are great! I was bombing them (at least for me) when I tried them out in a field yesterday. Now I need to take them to Emerald Isle and see how many more baskets I can reach from the tee!!!
