First I take it out. Then I pull the skin... Wait, you said DISC. Nevermind.

Fill the kitchen sink with hot water and dish detergent. Now put the discs from my bag in the water. Let soak for 10 minutes and wash with a cleaning sponge. Finally you rinse and dry.

those magic erasers work well, but theyll wipe the hotstamp if you arent careful, microfiber towel and hot soap/water does the trick too.

I did this once and then put them in the disc :Drack to drip dry. I left and when I came back into the kitchen it was dinner time. Low and behold my wife had set the table with my discs as the plates.
To say the least, it was the last time that I left discs in the rack. I now dry them directly after washing. :) :)

No steel wool or SOS pads. You could be disqualified for changing or modifying the flight of your discs.

Why do you say that? Your allowed to sand you discs down to smooth out tree nicks and such. Why would rubbing them with steel wool or SOS pads be any different?

It's not, scrub away... if you wish to do so.

If you live near a volcano, just drop it right in... The heat will melt away all the debris.

Because in the context given, you are not rubbing with steel wool or SOS pads with the intent of "smoothing molding imperfections or scrape makrs".
There is an assumption that the steel wool or SOS pads would scratch the disc. If they did so, you would be modifying the flight characteristics, and the disc would be illegal.

But if they sold the disc they scratched up to POS and you bought it, it would be legal again. ;)

I think that rule is a little dated. It was written in the days of Dx plastic when factoring was more common and fewer molds/stabilities were available. Now it seems a bit silly. I've tried doing all sorts of things in the past to get Champ Teebirds to break in and nothing I could do to the disc would make it noticibly less stable except using it for a year.

One of the guys around here puts his in the dishwasher at least once a month. He says it doesn't affect the flight at all, but do _not_ use the heated dry option!

I thought about the dishwasher but was unsure i think i may give it a test run on a few "taco" disc's.

Curt is correct in his answer.
C. Players may not make post-production modification of discs which alter their original flight characteristics. This rule does not forbid inevitable wear and tear from usage during play or the moderate sanding of discs to smooth molding imperfections or scrape marks. Discs excessively sanded or painted with a material of detectable thickness are illegal.

steel wool does not effect the flight or the shape of your disc,it just gets the dirt off.

I soaked mine in a 5-gallon bucket of mostly water and a small scoop of Oxydol for a couple of days and wholy-chit!, they were clean, grippy and I bogeyed almost every hole still. But my discs looked and felt sweet! Especially the DX ones.

I tried getting a horrendous dye of last night with acetone and the dye did come off but the flight plate became extremely domey from letting it sit in the acetone overnight....OOPS good river disc now.
