Happy New Year!
You all survived the holiday season intact and are well into 2008 - Congratulations! We're excited for this new year... we have lots of stuff on our plates here at Dogfish and we're excited to share it with you! Click on any of the titles below for the full story.
2008 Beer Release Calendar
If you have not already done so, you'll want to print or bookmark the official 2008 Dogfish Head Beer Release Calendar. We have two brand spankin' new beers that we'll be bottling in 08 - Palo Santo Marron and Theobroma!
Off-Centered Film Fest Call For Entries
Big news on the film competition front... we're taking it to the next level!!! We've partnered with the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Lake Creek in Austin, TX for this year's shorts competition. The submission deadline for the 2008 Off-Centered Film Fest is 2/15/08... so put down your beer and get crackin.'
Dogfish Fancy Brew Dinners In Rehoboth Beach
The next two Fancy Brew Dinners at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats happen on holiday weekends! Quick, plan a winter beach weekend... hotels couldn't be any cheaper! The January dinner is this coming Sunday (we do have a few seats left for this one) and the February dinner is the Sunday of President's Day weekend (even fewer seats still left for that one!).
Mardi Gras Weekend At Dogfish/Rehoboth Beach
Can't make a Beer Dinner weekend? How about celebrating Mardi Gras - Dogfish style! We're teaming up with more than a dozen other downtown Rehoboth restaurants to bring the Big Easy vibe to town the weekend of February 1st through 3rd. Make a plan and join us!
All Three Dogfish Restaurants Have Free WiFi
Need to escape the cubicle? the house? the roommate? Come hunker down with your laptop at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats or either of the Dogfish Head Alehouses - we have free WiFi. Whether you are surfing, shopping or working ... how could it not be better with a fresh Dogfish beer?
Struggling To Stay Warm This Winter?
We've got it going on with our cool new Dogfish scarf/hat combo. Not only will they protect you in the fiercest snowball battle, but they've got that cool knit retro-thingy going on.
Join Team Dogfish
We have a few choice openings right now here at Team Dogfish. We're looking for a Vice Prez of Sales, and a Plant Engineer at the Milton, DE brewery. At the restaurants we always want great cooks, servers, bartenders and hosts. Brewers too? Yes, we're always on the lookout for stellar off-centered folks to join us.
Can't Come To Us? We're Probably Coming To You!
Been missing us? Then check out our Happenings page to see where and when we'll be coming to your neck of the woods. I am constantly adding events to these pages, so you have to check back often!
That's it for now. I'll have even more for you next month. In the meantime if you have any questions about what's going on here at Dogfish Head, please e-mail me. And while I'm asking for your input let me know about our website. We're in the early stages of a re-design and I'd love to know what you want more of (and less of!)
Cheers,
Mariah Calagione

Well isn't that interesting. The user who this account is registered to, Jason Land, says thanks for the birthday wishes. But when you look on the front page of the DISCussion Board, it doesn't say Happy Birthday to uniTTy (Jason Land) it says: Happy Birthday: bUMPs (32)
And coincidentally, when you click on the account for bUMPs and the user who that account is registered to, Stephen BS Johnson #21066, it says: Stephen BS Johnson's PDGA membership is not current.

Sexual Chocolate is Released!
Foothills Sexual Chocolate was released on January 30Th. Foothills successfully pulled off their first bottle release ever, bottling 500 22 oz. bottles of the cult classic. On the morning of February 2ND, over 100 people waited in line outside of Foothills, braving the 20 degree weather to get their fair share of the 500 hand-numbered bottles. They were all sold in 49 minutes! While the bottles may be gone, you can still try Sexual Chocolate on draft, while it lasts. Throughout this month's newsletter, there are a few photos of the bottle release.

No, the last time Stephen BS Johnson #21066 (bUMPs) was an active PDGA member was 2006. Why bother paying $75 for a PDGA membership when your good buddy Jason Land will just allow you to use his message board account for free?

Yes, the moderation staff does have a lot better things to do. Unfortunately, we have to respond to complaints from message board users who pay $75 for a membership benefit that others are giving away for free. In the eyes of many message board users, this activity is viewed as theft of services and stealing from the PDGA and all PDGA members.
phluffhead
Feb 15 2008, 03:09 PM
You seem to be the only one who really cares. I think for $75 others should be able to use accounts. It's OUR membership and you are liable for what others post. There was a whole fn thread devoted to someone quoting Mike K. How is this different.
Anyways how about that Uber from Catawba Valley will bring it out next time.

You seem to be the only one who really cares. I think for $75 others should be able to use accounts.
If you pay attention to the complaints from other users on the message board and were aware of the complaints behind the scenes, you'd realize that many do care.
If you'd like to see the policy changed, feel free to contact the Communications Director and PDGA Office about it. In the meantime, account sharing is against the rules which is clearly listed as #4 here (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/boardrules.php?Cat=0) and may result in probation or suspension of those sharing their accounts.

You are invited to play in what is consistently one of the top 50 tournaments in the world as the limited field of 72 pro and 72 am players will be treated to a disc golf vacation weekend at the 20th edition of the Scholl's Bicycle Center Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open.
The deal:
$4000 (and rising) added to the pro payout
 Am player package worth $30
Two World Class courses at Knob Hill and Moraine Lakeview to test your game
 PDGA A-tier and a Can-Am Series event
 Vibram Open qualifier
First class special rate lodging 5 minutes from tournament HQ at the Comfort Inn Cranberry
Merchandise and prizes powered by Innova, Discraft, DGA, Dick's Sporting Goods
Cash bonuses for record setting Pro rounds
CTPs and a Scholl's bike to be given away
and the Dunham's Sports Players Picnic to conclude your weekend
The result: June 28-29 will be the best Pittsburgh disc golf tournament EVER.
All of the details are at www.pfds.org (http://www.pfds.org) and on the attached flyer.
You can pre-order lunch for Saturday and sign up online with Paypal or print out a registration form and snail-mail it in.
But do it now because the field WILL fill, and YOU want to be there at the end hoisting the trophy, the bike, the Fairground Market chicken dinner, watermelon or whatever you like to hoist after playing some great disc golf with the greatest players and people on the PDGA tour.
See you in Pittsburgh June 28-29th.

Man, I loved me some Inland Greens. When you say WILL be, you are just talking for this temporary event? That's a shame. I think that course is one of the few courses that was worth paying a little extra to play. Lots of fun and a great design with some fun long holes.

Yeah matt the collars are still in the ground and Drew the owner has stated that if we could somehow get 18 baskets we could reinstall the course but there are just to many hurdles to jump threw. it will be set up this saturday for our monthley and then we will have to break it down that evening.
