LODGA is committed to replacing baskets at UC on holes 13, 14, and 15. The basket fund stands at $100.

We need to get this done before LOSO.

Let's everyone who enjoys the course pitch in and help improve it! You can PM me or post it here.

All funds donated will be used for baskets.

We will look at paying for some of it out of club funds, but since several people have expressed interest in donating to a basket fund, we want to wait until those contributions are in and then make a decision at that point.

I'd easily give up $1 at the Sunday minis. With the turnout, you'd accrue that money quick. Plus, you'd set up the club with a steady income basis. But, I can understand if this needs to happen soon.

Think about it and maybe have an occasional CTP with the plastic people donate.

Not really, considering the angle and carry needed for the spike hyzer (or even lefty FH). It plays as a much easier righty putter anhyzer. Seriously considering throwing back down #7's fairway and punching through the rough at LOSO this year. It would be appropriate for that hole, IMO.

There looks to be plenty of room over to the left of the "fairway" for a new tee position.

Not true. For B-Tiers, it is recommended they be PDGA approved only. It's nice to keep them the same though, but there are three different types of baskets out there now ... Stroke Savers, Mach II'2 and Mach III's. I think Mach III's would be fine and are $377 retail. As a DGA rep, I can get them cheaper.

AS TD of this course this coming year, you my young friend will start with +2 for not playing the course correctly last year and then we will go back and ...just kidding.

The MANDO has been there for quite a while now. I remember when the course was first put in, my brother-in-law played it the way that you are talking about after a much heated discussion witht he rest of us that were playing. He went ahead and played it that way and the players coming from the #6 basket let him have it also. He was alone with no one to support him because the rest of us were on the other side of the creek.

It will be good to have you coming for LOSO again this year. Will Kat be tagging along?

Then Jay and Des kick in $100. Thanks guys, awesome!

And then you add to that 5 of the 6 ebay discs were sold at $20 each, so there's $100. The other one is sold, just no $ collected yet...another $20

I can't speak for Jerry, but I think he asked some LODGA leaders if they wanted to run the events at those courses. If they run them then they can allocate those funds to their club, but I don't think he got any response. Since SADC is running the events we'll keep the money in the SADC club funds (note: it isn't course funds, it is club funds). That said it will likely get funneled back to LODGA in some fashion (LOSO sponsorship or the like).

You came on to the scene after LODGA members got with their concil person in got you McClain Disc Golf Course in the ground not SADC. SADC came from the shirt tails of LODGA. Now LODGA needs help to get some basket and SADC disappeared, That is why ACDC was formed to be a true Allances.

What is it that you want Dave? Seems like you want LODGA to take credit for everything Disc Golf around here. You make it seem like you want everyone to say Thank You LODGA for giving us Disc Golf. Just quit trying to take credit for everything. Does it really matter? Thank You Dave for everything you did and LODGA did for Disc Golf and continue to do for Disc Golf. Is that what you want to hear? There it is...let's not start this same ole, same ole again. This always starts when you get on the computer. :p :(

SADC has not dissapeared and I have already told you how to make money FAST off of the minis. GET RID OF THE CTP AND KEEP THE DOLLAR. There are always around 30 people on Sundays=$120 a month. If you do that with League also, just imagine how fast the funds would come in for those new baskets. So can you please stop asking for us to donate to the UC basket fund. I have already said we will help other local clubs when we can. We also have our own things that SADC needs money for.

No individual and no club should feel any pressure to give money. It's totally voluntary.

We all go about supporting disc golf in our own ways.

Some give time, some give talent, some give treasure. Its all good.

LODGA has purchased the three Mach V baskets for replacement on old hole numbers 13, 14, and 15.
The baskets have arrived, and installation will begin next week.

The Club has paid the difference between what we had collected and the actual cost of the baskets.

We will continue to accept contributions to the basket fund, because we need to have funds for future projects.
So keep your donations of cash or merchandise coming!

We still have discs for sale, the proceeds of which go toward the basket fund. If you win plastic that doesn't suit you, consider donating it. Someone wants it!

Is a workday to install the new baskets in the future?

The parks and rec dept has the sleeves that go in the ground. They are supposed to be installing those for us. Assuming that happens, all we need to do is assemble the baskets and slide them in place. The old baskets can then be removed.

So we may have a workday, but we have to wait until the sleeves are in.

Status of Basket to replace #3 at UC:

We currently have $69 in the basket fund, due in large part to Jerry and Jeannie Lively, but to others as well.

LODGA is going to match that with another $69 from the club.

An anonymous donor has stepped up and will pay the balance of $250 on a new basket! It will be ordered very soon!

Thanks everyone, awesome job!!

Yes, I should have posted an update, sorry.

We have the basket. I took the sleeve portion that goes in the ground to UC Public Works to be installed. They have had it for almost two weeks, so I will call tomorrow and get the status, and report back on that.

Once that sleeve is in, it takes about 30 minutes to finish the job.

So, we slip the basket pole into the sleeve and...find out that the parks boys have decided to "enhance" the installation by putting some rebar through the sleeve to anchor the basket.

It's a good idea, unless you fail to take into account that a pole has to slide down inside the sleeve.

So now the pole has to be cut down by a few inches to accomodate the enhancement.

So there will be a short delay. Still trying to get it in by the Sunday mini.

Short delay...turns into a little longer delay.

Carlos and I decided it would be better to purchase a new sleeve than to cut down the pole. So now the replacement sleeve is on order.

Finished putting in the new basket on hole 3 this morning. The old basket still there, though.

Thanks to Jerry, George, Ben, and John A who helped get the new sleeve in place.
