I'm curious. How many PDGA members are REI members?
How many Disc Golfers shop at REI stores?

My PDGA member # is 4693
My REI member # is 2225606

Edit:
They sell discs too!

Edit II:
A Disc Golfer turned me on to REI back in 1987!

I have been a member for awhile and have worked at the Pineville, NC (charlotte) store for the last year and half. It's a great company and I have met many disc golfers shopping at the store. I have also started to run REI disc golf clinics and have gotten a lot of interest from many people who have heard about the sport but didn't really know what it was all about. It's always exciting to see new people discover the sport.

I'm just guessing, but I think I placed my first order with REI sometime around 1975-76. Great company, I've always had good experiences using them.

REI is great. It's where I get all of my climbing chalk for my dg bag for those hot/humid summer days. Plus you can get some really good deals on Keen's or other disc golf shoes when they are in the Outlet store. Can't say enough good things about them really.

When I lived in SLC I spent a ton of money at REI. Plus, if you have anything that might have been bought at REI or any other outdoor sporting goods store and you would like to return it, REI always takes it. My one friend needed money for a season pass at the Snowbird Ski Resort so he returned his Mountain Hardware Tent, which he had for at least 3 years, and they gave him a full refund. No questions asked.

And to answer your question, I am a member but i haven't been there since i moved back to PA.

We have an REI in Milwaukee that I've frequented quite often. I've been getting winter gear and backpacking things from them for years and been a member since who knows when.

I was surprised to see an Innova disc golf display the last time I went, which was a week before Christmas. After watching her hang around the display with a blank expression for a couple of minutes, commenting to her daughter on occasion that she thought her son might like one, I helped a lady pick out a Christmas present for her 16 year old boy. I hope he liked it!

They held the best garage sale I have ever been to. Colorado Springs. They sell off all the returns and maybe discontinued stuff super cheap. I think they have them a couple times a year.

Absolutely love REI! Thus there are none in Ohio, not surprised at all actually. They are a standard stop for me whenever I get back to AZ. I have actually visited Mecca once (the Seattle store) and was truly impressed!

Their return policy is second to none. They truly stand by their product to its dying days.

Definitely! I have heard some people complain that REI has become "too big" and/or "too corporate" compared to their humble beginnings. All I know is that I have always received top notch service and support from them. The REI brand, -30 degF, down sleeping bag I got for Xmas in 1978 is STILL good to negative temps and shows no sign of giving up the ghost. In the past six months, I have gone to the Denver Flagship store twice with equipment I abused (my fault) for repairs. Both times they fixed my stuff on the spot, no waiting, and refused to let me pay for it. They may be big now, but they got that way by treating people like me the right way.

Yep, REI kicks butt.
Been a member for more years than I'd like to admit.
