Anyone have any good ides for a homemade scoreboard to house round cards and be suitable for at least 18 holes?

The ADGA used to use a pair of old window shutters to hold the card stock paper score cards. It worked great!

easiest thing is a louvered door with a piece of duct tape run down the back.

Good advice on the louvered closet doors. If you have the time , you can find them at yeard sales , or just buy a new one at Home Depot etc. Be sure and get the double doors for more players and you can close it with the cards intact.
John David invented the Scoreport, basically the same thing made out of material that folded up and was very portable.

I started using the doors way back when I started running events when I was 17 or 18. In fact, they were hand me downs until I put 5 hours worth of work into modifying new ones. They worked ok but I was always losing cards and they became a pain. That was also right around the time of the ScorePort came out. They seemed pretty pricey but I could tell they were slick. For the next 3 years I use doors, tack boards, and about 3 other methods. I then created my own version of a 'scoreport' using pocket charts that teachers use. What a time wasting mess that was.
When everything was said and done, nothing worked nearly as well as the scoreport concept. Here is just one link I found for the original Scoreport (http://www.goaltimatestore.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=000283) but Lynx has now also come out with a cheaper version which is the ScorePointe (http://www.pdgastore.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=000283) and can be purchased from the PDGA store.
Long story short - I highly recommend NOT wasting your time coming up with other ideas or using the doors. I have been there and done that. Make the one time investment into one or two of these and be done with it. They are lightweight, easy to fold up, fit anywhere, and are the best thing for holding scores. I cannot say enough about the 4 that I own. I swear it is your best bet in the long run. Well, that's what I think after 100 or so tournaments run.
Good luck!

Listen to Terry. Doors are heavy, cards get lost, they blow over in the wind and the doors don't fit in your average car. I recommend you do whatever it takes to get the money and purchase the Scoreports or ScorePointes. The ScorePointes cost less and you can stand these up if you can't find a place to hang them. You will never have a card slip into the nether regions and it will fit in the front seat of your car. You will not be discappointed.

I agree with Terry and Suzette. I've used both and the Scoreport is BY FAR the easiest to use. The doors are heavy, act like a sail in the wind and are cumbersome to store.
The Scoreport is lightweight, easy to fold up and store. Cards are cheap to make.
Going to Home Depot, Menards or your local home center will probably cost you the same (or more) especially if you count your time (which you should).
