How big is your DG club? (you can use last years #s)... also curious how much it is to be a member? Trying to see what are the biggest clubs in the US/World. By the way... bu club i'm thinking city based as opposed to a few states together (ala NEFA).

Is 'SoCal DGA' one city area or a larger area made up of other cities... or literally all of souther cal?

Also just curious when people reply... how many courses the club 'owns/managed and/or has within its territory' ... do you do bag tags or something similar?

The Minnesota Frisbee Association (MFA) had a little over 150 current members in 2007. Memberships are $20/$15 to renew, and members receive a mini, membership card, and 4 newsletters (the Floater) throughout the year.

The Ann Arbor Area Disc Indueced Sports Club (http://www.a3disc.org) (a3disc) has between 200-300 dues paid members most years, with a lot more who consider themselves "members" but don't pay dues in a particular year because they aren't planning to regularly attend the summer league.

I believe our dues last year were $20 or $25 and, for that, you get a mini, a tee-shirt, and a disc. Since our summer league is at Hudson Mills Metropark (mostly) and it is going pay-for-play this year, we're wondering what that will do to club membership in 2008.

I think that most people would agree that our core courses are the two at Hudson Mills, the one at Rolling Hills Washtenaw County Park, Mary Beth Doyle (formerly Brown) Park, and now Bandemer Park. The latter two are both Ann Ann Arbor City Parks.

We purchased and donated the baskets for the course in Waterworks Park, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and usually have at least one tournament a year at Willow Metropark. The new course at Eastern Michigan is also within our geographical area, as is my own, private BRATS course. There is also a somewhat overgrown course at Pioneer High School which club members helped to clear brush for.

Completely overlapping with a3disc in geographic terms, is the Local 101 Disc Golf Players Union (http://www.local101dg.com/), a group of mostly younger guys who have been stepping up and running tournaments and, this year, are likely to start having an impact on course improvements.

St Louis disc golf had about 270 dues paying members last year.
I think we are up to 189 after today.
Each member gets a tag and a disc for $20.

We are going to have a membership drive in May, and have club members hang out all day at each of the 22 courses in our area. There is going to be prizes for which course gets the most new members.
We are expecting to have over 500 before the year is up!
( its a lofty goal, but very reachable)

We had 97 members of the Garden City Flyers here in Missoula MT for the 2007 season. Last year our Club dues were $15 and that included a Crystal BUZZZ and a mini, both with the Club logo on it. For an additional $8, Club members could buy into our Bag Tag Challenge.

We have 1 year round basket course, 1 course with baskets on a ski area, and 2 tone courses for a total of 4 courses within 15 miles of Missoula.

Not sure, but I would guess that our Club could be one of the largest based on number of members vs. city population. (Missoula has a population of about 60,000.)

and I would def. think based on population you guys have a huge club! Proportionately... if we 3000 members! (we have some work to do!)

The Madison Area Disc Club (MADC) currently has 135 active members. Based on our records, I would say we have had about 300 people considered members at one time or another since the 1992 inception of the club.

We have different levels of membership.
The basic membership cost is $15 and includes a DX type disc.
Members can upgrade to "Champion" type plastic for another $5.

Last year, we introduced the MADC Bag Tag. This was available for no charge to all members. We had a very good response.

We will be offering the Bag Tag again this year.
Plus, we are also exploring family memberships.

Find out more, at http://madcitydisc.org.

The San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club (http://www.sandiegoaces.com/) was formed in 2007 and currently has 230 dues-paying members for 2008. Membership costs $20 per year and members receive a bag tag and a disc - a Crystal Challenger with club logo.

We have three pay-to-play courses in San Diego County (Morley Field, Sun Valley Golf Course, Emerald Isle Golf Course) and one public park course (Montiel Park in San Marcos) with more on the way. The Aces recently entered into an agreement with the City of San Marcos to handle maintenance an upkeep of the Montiel Park course in exchange for a waiver of park usage fees. San marcos is alo holding a ground-breaking ceremony today for a new city park that will include a 6-hole, kid-friendly disc golf course. Morley Field (run by Snapper Pierson) is one of the first three polehole courses ever installed and is arguably the most-played course in the world.

Each course will host a PDGA-sanctioned event this year, all four hold weekly doubles leagues with Morley and Sun Valley also holding monthly tournaments. Montiel Park (opened in Feb. 2008) will host an Ace Race in October.

Oh, and we can play here 52 weeks out of the year, usually in shorts-and-t-shirt weather (and 20% humidity).

Looks like Allen beat me to this one!

Originally the membership price was $30 and it was reduced to the current $20. This change alone made the membership jump.
