Can't wait for this event...been way too long since I've been to the Hill! Hopefully playing on a familiar course again will redeem my crappy play in Crowley and Grapevine :o

would love to go back to the mighty Z, it could happen this year?

the temp course is not that bad, it's just not as good as the mighty Z. It has some interesting holes, I think they did the best they could with that piece of land. Plus it's right next to Z-Boaz, so you don't even need to move your car (unless you're afraid of a little walk).

It has a lot of birdies! I played with Jake last year when he shot -11 and he missed quite a few. Heck I shot -7 with two bogies and played kinda weak.

What are you smoking?
It sucks. There are 5 or 6 identical holes. On one tee box you can see 6 baskets. And the long holes are really not 2able unless you are Robby and they are hard to take a 4 on. I think that constitutes a bad course for a super tour.

this might be true for your average 1000-rated player... for you guys it's a birdie-fest. For the other 90% of the people playing, it is a chance to play well and make back some strokes we lost at Z-Boaz. There are a ton of birdies, yes, but there is some cleverly used OB, and if it gets windy, those long holes can easily become 4-5-6 holes for many amateur players. Several pro players as well.
You only have to play there one round, so there's not too much to complain about. Get your birdies then go back to the Z and earn your money.

As Mr.Covalt's spokesperson, he authorizes me to provide a more accurate point of reference. If you were to visualize the circumference of his medula oblongata and divide that by 2,you will have the exact distance between the courses.

Parking for the event will probably be a problem. Anyone want to carpool?

Jan 17 2008, 10:29 PM
The distance between the two courses really depends on how badly you shank your drives on Hole 1 of the Coyote and hole 16 of the Beaver.
Based on my personal performance on those two holes, the two courses actually overlap by about 50 feet.

Carpooling will help, but you can get a lot of cars on that lot and drive.
I am not sure if they eased up on it, but in years past the city was very intolerant of people parking on the grass by the road. Meaning do not do it.
Did you sign up yet? it is right around the corner.
