The 05 special blends were a modified ontario mold, as I understand.
These were just released for normal CFR uses.

So what do they mean by "slight molding flaws"?

Molding flaws or hotstamp flaws

Sup Board! I havent posted in awhile but I gotta say: My go-to 05 SB's look itentical to Ontarios. I always wonderd what Dave ment by "recapulation of the ontario mold". They sure fly like all my other Ontarios do when there new. They only difference is that even after 2 years of using 1 of them as my primary mid, it still flies exactly like my backups! All other sb's ive seen are too floppy for me. How are these latest in firmness?

I gotta post a rant about how innova is hurting the collectors market buy not marking the Ontario mold with "II" or maybe the current year, or whatever they want to mark the mold with so the old plastic can be authenticated. He's cool, I bet he has been thinking-talking to people about this. The BIG reason I pick up multiples at point of sale is for the collectable posiibilities. I am so disaponted in the collapse of the vintage Ontario market. I'm going to go curse my Ontario collection now. I gotta say, I feel like such a fool. What's worse is my wife knows it to. There is still time for Dave salvage at least some of the market by updating the mold. Ive got it! They should add the location where they are being made! OR, since the plastic makes the disc, they could put some cue to the mold, something like "Ontario mold" OR "Mold by Ontario"(my favorite so far). I work in plastics and I know that ID'g the mold is cheap. Am I insane or have other people been down about this? I guess I'm asking Ontario collectors (or X-Ontario collectors) this question.

I agree. Old school Ontario's have all but collapsed completely in the market. I've seen several sell for a little over $10. IMO the original are still the best b/c I much prefer the DX plastic of that time. I've got several sweet original black Ontario's and I wonder if they are worth anything anymore. I wonder if the same thing will happen to the Sanny's? I would hope not b/c the ultra stiff plastic is what made these so special but we'll see I guess.

For collectors, both the original Ontario and Sannys are still going to have value. But unless you're super particular about plastics (enough to spend 30+ dollars on dx discs), then you're going to watch those who throw the older mold rocs start to buy the new, re-issued molded rocs.

I think it is much more important for innova to look out for those who want to throw sannys and ontarios, not those who want to collect or make money off them. this sport is about playing disc golf [throwing], not hoarding disc golf equipment for future gain. I agree it is cool to save old discs for sentimental value, but to tell Dave D he is hurting the collector market by releasing these new rocs that people want to THROW is ridiculous.

I'm excited that they re-released them too b/c I throw the newer ones instead of the ones I've saved. That does not take away from the fact that it's a bummer that your investment is not worth as much as it used to be. Kind of like when your stocks take a dive. There is a collector market in just about everything these days... get used to it. I could tell you a story about getting out of the beanie baby market just before it collapsed but I don't think anyone wants to hear that. :D

All I'm saying is a simple ID on the mold would solve all issues. I know I'm still ridiculous. But that is for other reasons.
Karma, I bet youve checked out Radiohead on youtube. If you havent, check it out! I've dug them since way back (Talk Show Host is still chilling to me).

Dave said the Sanny mold will have a different tooling, as the mold uses the original top and side, with a new bottom.

We have gotten some in Denver for the High Plains Challenge (A-Tier in June). I bought and threw one this Saturday. Flies like an Ontario to start and has a higher slow-speed-turn at the end. Not nearly the "hook" a star/champion Rancho has. I hope with some seasoning, it will be a sweet disc. Either way...it's a durable Roc and it supported a tournament I enjoy so that's a good thing for me.

Just got some in for the Dynamic Discs Winter Warm Up B-Tier in Lewisville, TX. Should have some INNColor arriving as well sometime. The INNColor Star Destroyers feel awesome! Seems to be a different blend of Star plastic.
I'm not a Roc thrower but they feel pretty good.
Also got some big bead DX Aviars, Ch. Destroyers, and Ch. Glow Wraiths.
PM me if interested. $45 for two Star Ontario's shipped.
