Geoff Bennett is in Alabama right now competing in his 50th sanctioned event of the year!!!! Is this some kind of record?
Nick Schneider from Philly told me that the PDGA is rewarding the male and female who played the most sanctioned events in 2007 with a free 2008 membership for supporting the PDGA, the affiliated clubs, TDs and program in general. Is this true?

What happened to Steve Slater? He played 51 events as an Am last year and only 3 this year? Must've got a job or something.

Either that or he heard the rumor of free membership, too, but was disillusioned and destroyed when it turned out not to be true. Make it true, PDGA! Give those of us with ridiculous passion but not as much talent (outside of Bennett, of course) some hope!

I toured with Geoff from April through Worlds, and I have to say that Geoff is a really cool cat, and has so much passion for DG its ridiculous. Someday, Geoff is going to win something big.

He suffered an injury after shortly after Bowling Green that kept him out most of the year.

From what I understand, Steve Slater got a job and a lady friend down in the St. Louis area I believe which has been the cause of him not being around much this year.

Congrats Geoff, thats a lot of traveling!
I played in an event at Creve Coeur earlier this past year with Steve. I was expecting to see him play more around here since we have so many events, but he never showed back up.

That's REALLY a lot of traveling, considering most if not all of the year Geoff had no car!

that is crazy... and in 2 diff. states almost 3hrs apart! (i noticed a few others did too though... must've had a VAN)
I'm going for a personal record of more than 3 events! (although bowing out of Savannah isnt a good way to start!)

I'll second that, Scur!
Can anyone explain how he played 3 rounds in one day on different courses and different tournaments? Were these two events specifically scheduled in order to make this possible?

I assume you are talking about Slater in 2006.
Tower Ridge- 2 Round Saturday event.
Wakanda-2 Round Sunday event.
IOS #4 FCF- 2 Round Saturday event.
IN State - 2 Round Sunday event.
I live about an hour from where he does He's on the south side burbs of Chicago while i'm in the north burbs.. What Steve did was amazing. I know many times he was driving home then heading back on the road the next day. He put ridiculous miiles on his truck that year. There were 10 weekends where he played in different states. He would work during the week then get back at it each weekend.
Here is a breakdown of the 2 state weekends.
1 IA/IN
2. IL/IN
3. IA/WI
4. IN/IL
5. IN/IL
6. MI/WI
7. IL/IN
8. IL/MN
9. IL/IN
10 IL/IN
