BLAME THE ICE STORM OR BLAME THE COUNTY YOUR CHOICE.
WE WERE INFORMED TODAY THAT AREAS OF THE DISC GOLF COURSE WOULD REMAIN CLOSED THROUGH THE EVENT DATE OF APRIL 5 AND WE HAD NOT OTHER CHOICE.
WE ARE STILL PENDING FINAL WORD ON CHANDLER PARK AT THIS TIME.

IF THERE IS ANY ONE PERSON MORE UNHAPPY THAN ME THEN I CAN ONLY GUESS HOW UNHAPPY YOU ARE.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK, DAN MUST HAVE BEEN HERE!

I am not upset at you at all. I think you're doing a great job. Obviously, it's the ice storms that have mucked up the works. I just wanted to get as many courses in the series as possible.

sub note to closed courses,
it is possible (out side of the current series) that sanctioned events will be brought to the courses that we had to skip for the spring fling series.
Dates would be after May 2008 and be slotted into openings in the already full event schedule. this is however only in the very first stage if being thought about.

Well, perhaps I'm the only one, but I'm happy to be at Hunter for 2 rounds. Hunter is a great course, but was skipped at the big local tournaments last year (The OO and the OK state championships), so this seems like retribution to me. And, of course, since I only live a mile away, I know it like the back of my hand. ;)

in answer to the anti caps folks;
due the scheduling requirements this year's series will end as planned on Sunday April 6. We will look at trying to arrange "C" tier events later this year at the courses that were closed to us for the city series but it will be to late to include them this year.
If the series becomes an annual event then maybe in the next year we can play on all of the courses. we may even (if successful) look towards a Green Country series that would include some of our out of Town courses Like Pawhuska, Bartlesville, Muskogee etc.

Points are up, those who cannot make the 4 day minimum have been dropped from the sheet, those with 2 in the books were held on the board pending the final weekend.

But the "C" tiers will continue!
Your Club will continue to review open schedule dates to fill with courses left out of this year's points series. AND when the NT is in the books next year's series planning. will begin!
Who will step up and take the reins for 2009? :D

There is something wrong with what you have on the PDGA Tour page.

This is what is listed: Spring Fling will be "SF" and I will give examples in my own division (Advanced/MA1) for my own convenience...

SF #1- Reed Park- Don Cook 1st, Adam Hunt 2nd, Dave Nicholson 3rd.

SF #2- Kelly Lane- Greg Winsworth 1st, Myself 2nd, Don Cook 3rd.

SF #3- GTO Layout- Myself 1st, Josh Crowl tied for 2nd with Doug Maxfield.

SF #4- McClure/Dovillio- David Nicholson 1st, Greg Winsworth tied for 2nd with Gary Beasley.

We are golden up until this point...

The next two SF's that are listed are #'s 3 and 4 again and the results reflect that. As in the same rounds and everything:

SF #3- GTO Layout- Myself 1st, Josh Crowl tied for 2nd with Doug Maxfield.

SF #4- McClure/Dovillio- David Nicholson 1st, Greg Winsworth tied for 2nd with Gary Beasley.

This needs to be fixed before this coming ratings update or it will be a big stink...

...or was this on purpose or something?

I just saw that it didn't look right....let us know if we can help.

What are you asking?
I have not sent in anything to them since we posted #4 a few weeks ago so if they have double entered anything then they have double entered whatever you are seeing.
of course we have not sent in #5 and #6 yet because that is this weekend.
your example is very detailed but unintelligible to me  (brain dead from too much work not enough sleep)
thanks for pointing this out but I suggest you ask them what they are doing since I did not do it from my end. /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Andrew,

I think it is just the way that the Tour pages are set up date wise. If you go to February, SF 3 & 4 are at the bottom with the correct dates (even though these dates were actually in March). Now change it to March, you will see the same results , now at the top of the list, under the correct dates, for March.

Is that coherent, to anyone but me??

In other words...It looks like, to me, that their February and March lists overlap. So, it looks like they are double entered. FWIW

Martin_Norris
Apr 03 2008, 06:55 PM
I could not see what Andrew saw, I went to the April Page and backed up one month to March and they were on the March Page where I expected them to be as they spanned over into that month of play. I do not see how they could double book the event with the system they have as far as dates and event names but if they did then they will have to fix it.
the page shows the events as closed out, finished, and paid.

Congratulations to all of the Winners you know who you are and for everyone else. If you had fun you still won. :D

You need to hang up your bag and just start a disc golf cheer squad. :o

Or better yet, DO something with that pitch-n-putt course you're SOooo proud of. Even an age protected, grey haired, 942 rated player is able to get a 1,000+ rated round out of it. :o That should be proof enough.

No Problem - Schwake

#1 Devan Owens sets the mark with a 91 at Reed
#2 Coda Hatfield sets the mark with a 103 at Kelly Lane
#3 Coda Hatfield sets the mark with a 85 at GTO-Mohawk
#4 Ray Walker sets the mark with a 107 at McClure/Dovillio
#5 Devan Owens sets the mark with a 94 at Hunter
#6 Dave Wise sets the mark with an 89 at Riverside/Chandler

Ray Walker would have had 3850 pts if he would have stayed in the same division for all events.

The best score on two rounds of Hunter was only 5 strokes higher than the best score from Riverside/Chandler and only 3 strokes harder than Reed. I know weather has a big factor in those scores.

7 people played all six events
Coda Hatfield
Kyle Wilkes
Cris Hicks
Justin Bougher
Greg Winsworth
Brad HOI
Corey Leemhuis

On a personal note: I played in four events (4 @ $30 each)$120. Cashed in all four ($30, $35, $20, $35) $120 - Even Stephen.

I cannot say it was the right move, as far as winning the city championship goes.

I know that guys like my buddy T-Dogg, who don't get a chance to play every weekend, would say that I also skipped a perfectly good C Tier event on my home course. (actually my first two courses)

But then I think to myself, there will come a time when I will want to be able to go out on a sunny day and play with my dad and I won't be able to.

I think everyone had enough fun this year to carry it on for at least another year.

Though, as the schedule gets more crowded every year I see a need to condense the number of events as much as possible.

I think we should consider playing four courses a weekend and spread the events out evenly.

Or cycle a certain number of courses every year.

I think, and I think Martin would agree, that it would be nice for the course TD's should run their respective courses, or in the case of playing four courses a weekend have the TDs team up.

That way, most importantly, everyone can play.

Oh, he did win the divisional title for MA1 for the series. :cool:It is not always about having all first place finishes, in a series it is all about consistent play through a variety of weather, courses conditions and layouts.

Ok Gang now is the time to think about 2009.
Do we do this again?
Do we sanction or non sanction?
Do we keep it local or expand to "B" ville, Bristow, Muskogee, Owasso, and the Lodge?
Or do we just call it a one hit blunder?

FEED BACK PLEASE!

I say expand it! We would love to see ya in Bristow. I am sure Owasso would love to have the new course played.

Do it again. Make it bigger and better! And keep the sanctioning. It draws out-of-towners.

We all have hopes that Hakie and Riverside will be back on line in 2009.
I note that we have 5 nine hole courses now: Owasso, Reed, Sapupla, Mac Taylor and Bristow. those will need to be early in the schedule because of player capacity.

I like the idea of the Nine Holers, however will chandler and Riverside be up and running at the anticipated date?

Chandler and riverside can be placed late in the schedule the only factor with chandler is getting it done before Chandler Stock's 25th party.
