We are not asking you to make a choice to choose one or the other. We started this club to help Disc Golf in our city. To give us more options than just playing Live Oak, UC or McClain. To promote this sport and watch it take off in the Alamo City. It seems like SADC members are threatened by the new club and want it to be some kind of rivalry. I will admit I do not agree with some SADC members but I don't have to. It's not about me. I just want to see the sport grow into something HUGE here. Every time I go to Pearsall Park I see new faces. I like that and the course is not in the ground yet but the interest is!!! Some LODGA and SADC members have joined ACDC just so their time and efforts can help out the courses and the sport. They don't want anything else to do with the club and that's their choice. San Antonio Needs This!!! Talk to you later......David

I think SADC can handle that course plus mcclain plus nani.
David - Would you be willing to run the minis out there as part of SADC instead of a LOGDA chapter? One of the positions I am proposing is a course rep for each course. 1 for McCalin, 1 for Nani, and 1 for Pearsall. Would you be willing to be nominated for pearsall? The duties will include running a mini in coordination with the other minis around the city (meaning not conflicting with any of the minis that are already established), coordinating work days, and bring maintenance needs to the group for cash dispersment (i.e. we need trach cans, city won't provide, I propse we use $X amount of club funds to but them).
I think too many clubs is a bad thing as it hinders ability to coordinate between the group. Too few is bad because it spreads us too thin. My opinion is 2 in this size market is probably about right for now, but that is just my thouhts.
Thoughts?
Well proposed. I think that's a great idea! Let me know what I can do to help.

I have to turn that down since Pearsall Park now has it own club that is under the LODGA umbrella. We will be getting our own thread under PDGA Affiliate Clubs here within the next few days according to Cliff Towne of the PDGA. We of ACDC look forward to working with LODGA and SADC to promote the sport we all love. You ask why two club, I say why only two Club San Antonio is a Big City and need all the representation it can get that is why there is more then one councilman. If you have a problem with this its your problem not the memebers of ACDC :D

WOW LODGA has an umbrella. That is sweet. How do you find out all this stuff about LODGA? I am a member and I never hear any of this until after the fact.

I was referring to the fact that LODGA is starting another club for Pearsall. I hadn't heard that yet. I was told that no decisions about LODGA had been made and there will be a meeting to discuss such things.

LODGA didnt start the club at Pearsall park, people from the Pearsall park area did and wanted to be connected to LODGA because of their abilities and knowledge in the disc golf arena. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif :D

I'll be at UC Sunday morning and would love to discuss the LODGA umbrella second chapter thing with others. It seems that you are a "TRUE" LODGA Member Dave and that was all you had back then. Times changed and now SA has courses in the city. The truth is SADC is here and you don't like that because you bleed Liiiveee Oooaaakk!!! That's fine if you want to focus on helping out one club more than the other. If you want to start clubs all over the city, that is your business but please don't waste my time with the posts you are putting here. Why not just PM all of your so called ACDC, Voelker, Pearsall Members and keep SADC out of it because it really doesn't seem like any of us are interested. Are we really your target audience for ACDC membership? Why don't you post this stuff on the LODGA Thread since it is an "umbrella" and you seem to be working off of that club? I really can't wait to hear your response. :p Really

I don't understand why everyone always seems to take this guy's "bait". Chain Chinger, if you are truly looking for support, you shouldn't start a thread negatively addressing the members of that group.
It seems like SADC members are threatened by the new club and want it to be some kind of rivalry.
If there is another club in SA, all the better. Whether you are a member of SADC, LODGA, ACDC or all three, all that matters is that everyone pools their resources when it counts(Ice Bowls, PDGA events, charity events, and dealing with the respective cities). All the clubs (established, newly forming, and future), need to remember that a strong unified player base is what is going to move things forward. If it appears that there a just a lot of little groups, that can't get along, it makes the whole sport seem unorganized. All the clubs should co-operate, and show others that DG is a sport that needs recognition from the cities in the area. You guys are the face of disc golf in the area. Establishing course contacts for each course is definate way to start achieving that. If someone gets in contact with "Chain Chinger" about McClain, then he should give that person Birds (or whoever runs things out there) info. If ACDC is the Pearsall club, then if anyone else is contacted they should be steered towards the contact for that club. It all works, provided that the heads of all area clubs communicate with each other. Nothing can be more detrimental than letting the city organizers see that everyone can't work together. Good luck to all!!! Can't wait to be home this chistmas and see some of these new courses!! :D

The only new course is McClain. There will be one at Pearsall and we do not yet know what will become of Voelker.
