We have a new course in the Charleston area. It is 18 holes at the West Ashley Park in West Ashley South Carolina. 18 Innova baskets, brand new. Tee pads all marked with 4x4s, signage is still in production and will have the hole number, distance and a pitorial.
We are very excited about this and the Charleston Disc Golf Club encourages everyone to come check it out. As soon as we name it I will add it to the PDGA course directory. It was designed by myself with lots of help from Dave Wheeler, Rick Stepp and other members of our local club.

Lots of cuTTin, Dave and I did a bunch. The club did some great work. The City did a lot of clearing for us too. The boy scouts took on the sleeves and 4x4 tee pad markers for some Eagle scout project.
There are a couple holes on the marsh that will eat some plastic. Gators and everything.
All told I've been working on it for about 3 years now.

good job Jonas.
Charleston needs a public course.
Public courses increase the amount of new players in the game more so than private courses.

We hope to have 3 events in 2008. Maybe one here if it holds up to our testing. I need to get a copy of the 2008 NC and SC schedule and see where we can squeeze in a couple CDGC spots.
We are having our January monthly there and there are a couple alternate pin placements we are going to experiment with before we do anything official.
If is a fun course. I need to get some practice out there this week.

Both Garrett and Jeff recently moved down here from Columbus, OH.
They're helping raise the bar here in Chucktown for some solid local Pro golf. It's great to have them here.
I'm going to go ahead and call it: Garrett will finish in Top 3 at Earlewood.

good to hear about the bar getting raised... depending on the level of play for these 2 that could be huge for your area!... what are their last names? just wanted to check out the pdga info on these guys.

'mispelled' Jeff's last name... both look solid... def. some great additions to the 'other' CDGC (go CHUCKTOWN!)

Stoney Hill DGC

Garrett came up to Stoney HIll this Sunday and won the pro division, beating Travis in a playoff. He opened the first round with a 52 (first time playing the course) which would have been a course record but Coral shot a 49 the day before. Great person to play with. Definately enjoyed being in his group.
