What stuff does everyong use to keep dry, warm etc during this crazy time of the year when we all go out to endure punishment for the sake of charity.

Heres my set up

Clothes
Layers I feel is the key, as I used to cross country ski up in Chicago this seemed to work the best for me.
Lightweight thermals and tee shirts. I think I'll try out snowboarding pants for the legs. I know everybody swears by Bodyarmor but if you dont have the cash to plunk down thermals work good.

Keep your feet dry!
Get yourself a good pair of water proof socks. I picked up a pair of Stormsocks and I think they should last for the season and they were cheap at 20 bucks. Also back up dry socks.

Discs
Cheap plastic may crack if it gets real cold but it has the bets grip if it s wet out.
Also if your playing snow it helps to use dark colored discs that will stand out. I've also heard of taping a ribbon on top as a flag if it gets buried.
Let your discs sit out side so they wont freeze up from condensation.

Don't forget to bring alot of towels. Besides being use to dry and clean off your discs they can be used to improve traction in snow and ice. ;)

Handwarmers
Cheap and easy to use stock up on them and keep em in your pockets.

Shoes
Good sturdy hightop hiking shoes work great especially when teamed up with waterproof socks.

Water
You might not think it but you get dehydrated alot faster when its really cold out so make sure you keep hydrated.

A pair of shorts, a t shirt, and some sunscreen :p, unless it is our 1 day of sub 70 degrees in which case a pair of shorts, a long sleeve t shirt and some sunscreen, and lots of water

Worst case scenario:
Tee shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, fleece, shell. Long johns, fleece pants, shell. Down mittens with hand warmers, neck/head gator. Polypropylene socks, ski socks, winter boots. I will only be able to throw about 300' but it's better than being cold.

I have to thank Tommy O for the tip on my latest addition to the foul weather kit.

I've been using a microfiber mitten-type thing in place of a towel (I carry one of those, also, but often only use it for sitting and kneeling). It's a Rasta looking square thing, bright orange and quite comfy in place of a glove. I think they're made as car drying devices.

I picked one up at a variety store up north on an impulse last summer after Tommy tipped me off, and found it quite useful through the fall and into winter. Once I broke out my usual winter kit, I've just substituted the Microfiber unit for one glove. I'm going to buy a pair and just go with two towel-Rasta-mittens. Quite inexpensive, I think. They're plenty warm and dry. Plus, they look wacky. Any color up here in Michigan during winter is a bonus.

Makes a great stocking stuffer.
