What stuff does everyong use to keep dry, warm etc during this crazy time of the year when we all go out to endure punishment for the sake of charity.
Heres my set up
Clothes
Layers I feel is the key, as I used to cross country ski up in Chicago this seemed to work the best for me.
Lightweight thermals and tee shirts. I think I'll try out snowboarding pants for the legs. I know everybody swears by Bodyarmor but if you dont have the cash to plunk down thermals work good.
Keep your feet dry!
Get yourself a good pair of water proof socks. I picked up a pair of Stormsocks and I think they should last for the season and they were cheap at 20 bucks. Also back up dry socks.
Discs
Cheap plastic may crack if it gets real cold but it has the bets grip if it s wet out.
Also if your playing snow it helps to use dark colored discs that will stand out. I've also heard of taping a ribbon on top as a flag if it gets buried.
Let your discs sit out side so they wont freeze up from condensation.
Don't forget to bring alot of towels. Besides being use to dry and clean off your discs they can be used to improve traction in snow and ice. ;)
Handwarmers
Cheap and easy to use stock up on them and keep em in your pockets.
Shoes
Good sturdy hightop hiking shoes work great especially when teamed up with waterproof socks.
Water
You might not think it but you get dehydrated alot faster when its really cold out so make sure you keep hydrated.
