There is a post about how many discs you carry. But how many discs do you own? I have been playing for only about a year and have roughly 90 discs. That seems ridicolous to me. Just wondering how many you vets have.

been playing for 18yrs, but I have considerably limited my colllections...it has been close to 1000 maybe at one time and closer to 200 most of the time..

currently

100 or so collectible discs (including a PRO WORLDS collection from 82 to Present)

50-75 White Aviars

25+ new backup discs if I lose one in the bag

25+ broke in discs of different types

10 trash discs (We throw those over the Dallas Tollway)

:D

Grey plastic bins that hold between 30 an 35 discs each = 34
Cardboard shipping boxes that hold between 25 and 30 discs = 4
Assorted discs not in boxes (spares and such) 50-100.

That's somewhere between 1200 and 1500. Way more than I'll ever be able to throw. Most of them were bought in support of tournaments, not very much of them were won.

1 Bin is flat top DX ROCs
1 Bin is CE plastic
2 Bins are DX and tourney stamps
3 Bins are full color and Inncolor discs
3 Bins are assorted Midranges
4 Bins are DiscCraft
5 Bins are Millenium
7 Bins are USDGC ROCs
8 Bins are Innova Drivers

The boxes are pretty much old DX stuff from when I was traveling around the country collecting discs from each area.

I'm guessing about 250 discs.
I have 30 that cycle through the bag depending on courses and state of mind.
I have about 30 backups for the bag.
40 discs I don't throw anymore.
20 discs I have around to give away to new players or introduce others to the game.
15 putters when i feel serious about putting.
25 CFR discs and from tourney's I've thrown.
26 CE Firebirds
33 USDGC Rocs
2 Japan Open Rocs
21 CE/SE/4xJK Valks
7 CE Eagles/Teebirds/Leopards

I just added that up and came to 249. Sounds close enough. Too bad I keep buying CE plastic faster than I throw it and use it up but that's a sacrifice iIm willing to make ;).

Just checked and it's more like 5 and tow partial bins, the partial bins have VIP and spectator discs (not spectator ROCs).

So It's just under 200 USDGC ROCs

ive only played a couple years. my count is right at200 pieces. my goal is to become a local t. d. and have a quality selection for am payout, the selection is mostly limited to molds ive thrown so they are replacements if i loose out of my bag.however sometimes ive been known to sell a few during leen times and gift a few to new players when ever the opportunity arrises.

I have about 80 discs that I throw, threw, or plan to throw.

One bin of putt and approach discs-Aviars, Classic Rocs, Spiders
One bin of midranges-Rocs, Buzz's, Wasps
One bin of my main drivers-Valks, Firebirds & QJLS
One bin of various other drivers I have as backups
8-9 beat Aviars for practice putts
9-10 autographed and trophy discs for display

so about 100 total. Any more than that and I start to feel like a hoarder and start trading or giving them away. Been playing about 6 years

I never knew one could have quite such a collection...mine's minimal

1 box (bout 50) various Gateway discs
1 bin of Collector's (old CE plastic/tourney discs/CFR Wraiths)
1 bin of collector Roc's (CE/10x/11x/12x/)
and a bag's worth of Gateway I throw...

I'd like to hear about some unique discs people have. The rare and hard to find...

About 350 - Scattered among 4 bags, A Couple boxes and Shelves in my Garage.

Some to throw, many as backups to what I throw, some to trade(I don't want them but someone does) and some to collect/backups. Always looking for Teebirds, Banshees & Firebirds.

I like the KC Pro Plastic & the Pro(Champ) plastic :
18 KC Pro Banshees
15 KC Pro Teebirds
16 Pro Firebirds (+3 KC Pro)
+ Other molds in KC & Pro

I've only been involved with the sport since 1996, so I don't have many old things.
I do have approximately 1500, with 1100 up on the walls in Innova disc holder racks, with about 300 stacked on the floor waiting for Innova disc holder racks to go on the wall, and 100 or so that are thrown, not counting the 50-100 that I use to supply tournament CTP's or giveaways for new players or courses.

I've given away over 900 discs(not sold)in 11 years, and I still have too many discs, and the sad part is I'm not really a collector of any discs except tournaments I run or play in.

I haven't counted in a while.....

but I have 6 golf bag fulls, 1 Innova shipping sleeve full, around 25 on my wall and 5 98 gallon tub fulls.

I'd guess around around 450 maybe?

I have about 3000. Oldest is the Buck Rogers flying disc. Oldest frisbee is Lil Abners, then a Mint in package Robes Space Saucer prototype. I also have the wooden mold for the Brand X 44X, which only 50 discs were made.

Looking for a Rock N Roller.

300+
mainly throwers, but some to collect. I entered all on a spreadsheet, brand, mold, color, stamp, weight. So when I need one, I can search through the list and find easily! Then just cross them off! The plastic bins holding about 30 discs each are numbered. I don't have any that are that rare, except my first ace disc (Chains Aviar on a short hole), my first disc (Silver Viper, way too overstable, but got me hooked), and some very cool discs that have stamps of Kansas Events!!!! Love collecting those! Oh, and Christmas Discs!!!!

There is a post about how many discs you carry. But how many discs do you own?

I could count them all, but then I'd have to kill myself. :)

I have this fantasy of gathering up all the odd boxes strewn about the garage and tucked away in all the closets, and then sorting and cataloging all the discs. But I don't really see that happening any time soon.

That's why I put them on the Innova disc racks, so I can look at them anytime I get depressed, and remember the good times or people that the discs represent!

This thread makes all of us OCD disc golfers self-conscious! We want excuses to buy and throw new discs instead of being faced with our own addiction! This is like INTERVENTION for disc hoarders!;) :D

A lot more than my wife knows about. She knows about the 9 Buckhorn grey bins, 2 shoe racks, and 12 boxes in one closet. Sadly, she thinks that all of the boxes labeled "John's old keepsakes, toys, and clothes" in one of the other closets are actually john's old toys and clothes. (Insert evil laugh here) :D

Is there a container that anyone can recommend? I have been collecting discs for a while and need something to store them in.

Here's a thread on that very subject. I prefer the Buckhorn grey stackable bins.

I have around 1,000 in my ever rotating collection consisting mainly of CE,KC,SE, Protos, and first runs with a few tourney stamps thrown in. My most prized disc is an Innova APX. Yes, Innova APX! There were only 50 ever made and mine is number 3. Not worth a whole lot to ebayers, but sometimes that's not what matters. It was a birthday gift from a close friend.
