scottknapp
Nov 15 2007, 03:10 PM
The Hole Sposorship Thin-A-Ma-Bobs are gonna cost $25. We really hope the disc golfers and disc golf clubs help support this, because, since we don't live in New Bern, it is hard to seek out or know which local businesses would be intrested in sponsoring this event.
If anyone is intrested in being a hole sponsor, you can send a check payable to:
Melissa Knapp
243 Zachary Ln.
Hubert, NC 28539

or if you would like to paypal a sponsorship to us, pm me for the info on how to do that.

Rock, there are quite a few hotels in the New Bern area, but none within a mile or so of the course. Dowtown NB is where you'll want to look. I recommend the Comfort Suites. It is the closest to the course from downtown and right on the water.

The NB Rotarty club would probably be a good sponsor since they are the one's that bought the remaining baskets and signs.

Sweet scotty. the 2 holes are pretty obvious.

hole 10 the 241 downhill left to right has these really wierd tropical reed plants grwoing out of the base of the 2 pines so the 2 pines that define the fairway have 3 foot tall plants that force you to throw over. i would jsut cut the ones that are in the inside of the 2 trees that define the fairway and leave the rest becasue they look really cool.

Hole 15 from the Blue has a bunch of limbs hanging in the fairway on the right side eo you have to throw a funky s shot starting the disc well left have it flex right then finish left again. the limbs are not super high and should be easy to get to. other than that the course looks pretty solid.

For the One Moe, they are playing New Bern, not Kinston. Hole 10 does not have a 460 pad, but it does have an alternate pin they use sometimes. At the King's Cup they have played 4 rounds from the blue tees. You should check out that event in May.

i am pretty sure that's the way joe wanted hole 15 to play. since that hole was changed to it's current tee/pin positions i remember there being shule there. the shrubery on 10 has always been an issue. it usually gets cut back like 1 time a year. i think i'll probably do some work on 16's long pad, it's rooted up like all hek, you dig.

7 - What on 7?
8 - some clearing of fallen limbs and trimming
10 - trimming the green thing :)
15 - see above post

Word on the street is that there might be a new long pad for hole 13 (the mando hole) that would take out the mando and make the hole play fairer.

otimechamp
Dec 11 2007, 08:49 AM
is 13 that stupid hyzer hope shot with no fairway to the pin? I didnt even no there was a mando on that hole? thats funny! I cant find a mando on a whole that has no fairway........ priceless.

where is the new t going to be?

scottfaison
Dec 11 2007, 01:34 PM
Yes that is the same hole. The mando was so that you did not try and got over or through the shelter.

The potential location for the new tee is back and left of the short tee. It gives it a pure shot down the left side of thew fairway. This makes it a tight shot, but a fair shot with a chance to get to the basket but also the chance to get into trouble. KG was out there with Vee and myself and we all looked at it. Also Weldon had said it would be OK if we found a new long tee. It remains to be seen if it will be used at 1 MOE.

Perhaps they're are not aware that you will be presenting Trophy's that day. Yes Cutt, always about lunch. I enjoy courses, and once I get on one, hate to leave it. Breaks into my relax time if you must know, plus, it gives one a chance to support local DG organizations most of the time. It also assists in getting to know the others in the game. At home, we all have a hundred fast food places, most, look just like yours.I support all organizations, attend all players meetings to support the TD, and enjoy the company of other discgolfers and socialize about things that can't get done during the round.

The trophies for the CPPS are not ready yet so in light of that I am going to do things a little different. The winners will be announced at 1 Moe but they will receive their hardware at the first event in 2008. I am sorry about that but due to $ and time, they are not done yet. Also, there will be an added item to their trophy presentation in 2008, so I guess you all will have to be at that event to find out what it is.

Twas the night before One Moe, and all through Down East
Not a golfer or disc was stirring, not even a Beast.
The chains were all hung in the baskets with care,
In hopes that lots of birdies soon would be there.

The amateurs were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of better ratings danced in their heads;
And Mrs Scotty in her WVU pajamas and I with an ECU cap,
Had just settled Holden down for a long winters nap-

When out on the course there arose such a clatter
I drove from my house to see what was the matter.
Away to hole 1 I flew like a dork,
Tore open my bag and threw a pink Orc.
The moon on the waves of the rippling Neuse
Gave a luster of happiness as I putted for a deuce.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a miniature sleigh with eight disc golfers in the rear.
With a Team Tub driver listening to Rap,
I knew in a moment it had to be Papa Knapp

More rapid than TeeRexs his golfers they came,
and he whistled and shouted as he called them by name.
"Now Noble, now Myers, now Clizzark, now Vee!
On Big Wave, on Frizzak, on Wop, on Rocky!
To the top of the scorecard, until you beat them all,
Now birdie away, birdie away, birdie away all!"

As a over stable disc that before the wicked headwinds do fly,
When met with a crush hyzer take to the sky.
So up to the tee pad the golfers all stood,
With bags full of disc, man these guys looked good.
And then in a twinkling, I heard on the green,
Some puts they were making like putting machines.

As I drew in my head and was turning around,
Down the fairway Papa Knapp came with a bound.
He was TTrimmed out in gear from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all clean and stylish to boot.
A bundle of discs he had on his back,
He looked like a TD just opening his pack.

His eyes how they twinkled, his smile was so merry.
I did not study his looks, cause I ain't no fairy.
His face was all happy, drawn up in a grin,
And his stylish sideburns were definitely in.
The ring on his finger that he was glad to show,
Told me that we all know that Moe runs the show.

He had a broad face and a round little belly,
Hey he's Team Tub, now pass the biscuits and jelly.
He was cool and laid back, a really awesome TD
And I wish that I could run an event half as good as he.
A wink of his eye and a nod of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work
And made sure we all had fun, and did not act like big jerks.
And giving me a putter to use in the round,
He smiled and nodded to put my worries down.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his golfers he gave a whistle,
And off they took like an ICBM missile.
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
Happy One Moe to all, DOWN EAST IS ALL RIGHT!
