I'm not much of a photographer but here are some of the CFR destroyers (they do come w/ the CFR certificate that can get you into the drawing for prizes from Innova ... like an entry into the USDGC!)

the awards will be held at hornets nest on sunday, but everone should have time to get to renny & see the final groups.

The top to Am finishers in each division get paid entry to the US Doubles Championships. Does that mean the top two finishers have to play together in the Doubles Championships, or do they get to team up with person of their choice?

monty is correct you don't have to play together we will pay the entry for the top 2 finishers its up to them whether they play together or not. if they chose to play with someone else we will pay for only 1/2 of the team.

I played Renny original once on my mountain bike last summer. I really enjoyed it. I should be about 100% by then too, if I don't fall down locally.

got you covered on your info, i know you haven't played many events. looking forward to seeing you soon. hard to describe gold changes all i can tell you is 18 is now moved across ravine and is now an island hole,

Renny Gold is hands down the Best course I have ever played. Pretty Sjur that goes for all the ZZ!!

hole 18 is a par 5 with an island green across the ravine. hole 10 is now a par 4 with all the stuff that used to be in the middle of the upshot to the green gone. Also, they've cut down a lot of the briars on holes 11,12,13.

Renny Gold is hands down the Best course I have ever played.

Changes to Renny- 2 were planned, others (minor changes) were because of Duke Power cutting tree that were in their right of way.
Planned: Gold 10- the VAST majority of stuff between your (hopefully)first and second shots to the green was removed. Now a par 4. Gold 18- tee is moved back and to the right, OB along the right side of the fairway(between 7 & 18), in Lake Mullett, in the ravine towards the basket on the right side across the ravine. It is an island green. Par 5. I've 3'd it once- don't think I'll do that in a tourney, though it's possible.
Unplanned- the trees that were removed don't really change the holes too much, just make them look a little different. Most notable- gold 7. There were a lot of trees removed on the first 1/4-1/3 on the right, now there's not just 1 mando (that you couldn't miss) but 3 mandos- so you can't throw the big hyzer on the right, you have to play the fairway(at least until you have lots of trees to hit IF you try going to the right)
Gold 8 lost a tree that makes the hole slightly easier. Gold 2 lost a tree- no real change.
Also, a lot of briers were cut on holes 11, 12 & 13- now it's much easier to find discs thrown OB. It's still a par 70 and not any easier. Gonna be good to see everyone.

I have played a lot of disc golf (ask my wife), but never at Renny, looking forward to a hot (blind) round and an even hotter 2nd round. May try to get down there on a hooky day sometime soon.

I can probably tell you a hole by hole breakdown because of how many times I have watched the fly by and seen the Clash DVD. Thanks for your help on the course, it was Sjurly worth it.

On the flyer it says Online Pre-Reg ends 2 weeks before the tourny. Any specific date? I get paid monthly and I don't get my next paycheck until the 29th/30th.

At Renny, you need power and control. There are a few "boomer" holes yet there are several holes that you have to hit a specific line else you won't even have a chance at par.

With all of the recent rain, how does the teepad on 11 original(uphill righty anny shot) looking. I remember in past years that tee was the muddiest on out there...if I am thinking about the correct hole....

Stan is the man and has that course looking the best I've ever seen it. Every disc golf community needs someone like Stan.

i was playing with stan once up there and hit the band on 11 for a 3 (but it was w/ a thumber from quite a ways out)

Nope, plans hardly work out. We played Danville, VA twice. Figrued it was a close as we could get to playing Renny. Should be interesting. I am trying to pull a Friday work day out of my company's Charlotte office on Friday with a Renny round after work, but too early to tell.

yea old gold 18 pad. 2 shots over lake mullet is possible but with basket being on the side of the hill about 40 feet past lake mullet. also the ob is extended up to the parking lot, so going up by the parking lot is now ob.

It's an awesome pin placement. One of the hardest to putt on, since it's on a ridge AND it's a steep ravine to the right. It probably favors a lefty approach.

Are there any pros traveling great distances to make this event? I meant ones who are not already registered. How can you turn down a chance to play Renny and Hornets Nest! That's like the BIG SLICK of disc golf courses.

shot another personal best on Renny O this evening... getting ready!!!!

new 18 orig. is... 'interesting'. I like the hole and its 'fun' but there are some potential safety issues I'd be concerned with most of the year (since the basket is so close to the road and where cars park during tennis matches and summer days when the parking lot fills)

had a great look for a 3 on it the first time playing tonight but the putt bounced out and had to take the 4.

WOW. The Renny-hornet's nest combo. Very Manly. We did a sugaw creek, renny gold, hornet's nest trifecta one day. I slept for 12 hours the next.
