I guess this means the gloriously unsanctioned MSDGC really is history. :(
I guess I <u>have</u> to renew, now!

Firstly, yes, I am psyched.
Secondly, I guess my course record will be history. :(
OK, my question is this: With 144 players, how will we get through 4 rounds on one course in 3 days?
I can see a way to get 1 round per player per day either running tee times or 2 rounds of 1/2 the field each, but how do 144 players play 36 holes each on a single course?
Just wondering.
But yeah, if you didn't know already, I will be there for sure.

ZZ will be there...What happens to the glorious pyramid trophy....How about mounting it on a pole in the middle of the pond on hole one!!!! Now that would look sweet.

The first two rounds will be on the elements. The next two rounds will be on the airplanes. We've got Friday, Saturday and Sunday to do it. As a young Bolivian once told me while playing Ultimate, "I know my man. I have a plan."
Anyone want to come up with a plan? If it is better than mine, I'll steal it.

I was also wondering how the rounds would work with that many players. I started thinking about how it would work, but it is distracting me from the Sox game.

Flights? 72 play in the morning, 72 the afternoon both Friday and Sat, cut, 72 play sunday...
Long days in July, you can have 3 flights each day Friday and Saturday, mix, shuffle, cut, showcase Sunday. OR just build another 18 hole course out there.

when at maplehillopen.com at the top of my web browser it reads- "untitled document", should it read- "the virbam open..."
something that i noticed, should only take a minute to give the site a name.

That would be the title tag of the HTML document. Would definitely help you get more visibility on search engines for both the tournament and the sponsor.

Harold Duvall wants to make the basket throw-off more exciting this year. I think he mentioned something about mounting the basket in front of the bonfire - you miss, you lose. Who knows, he said Matt is the creative one.
Oh yeah, and Innova is in as an Ace Sponsor - again! Thank you Innova.
Check out all the Ace Sponsors on our home page (http://www.maplehillopen.com/).

The "real" Ring of Fire, eh? Discraft putters throw that direction and Innova the opposite way... :D

Vibram Open Dubs.
So we are changing the format from the Skins competitions of year's past to a three team Doubles format. I've done a little tweaking and a little thinking and here is where it stands. I'd love some thoughts on this. Is it good? Can we make it better?
$2,000 Vibram Open Dubs
Open Dubs
Three doubles teams (format TBD). The top four ranked* players that are registered for the Open by July 23rd will comprise the first two teams. The top two finishers at the Dubs Qualifier will comprise the third team.
1st Place Team: $400
2nd Place Team: $250
3rd Place Team: $100
Women Dubs
The top four ranked* women will be divided into three doubles teams and will be competing for their share of $700 (format TBD). The third team will be comprised of the top two women in the Dubs qualifier.
1st Place Team: $400
2nd Place Team: $250
3rd Place Team: $100
Ancillary Dubs
The third through eighth place finishers in the Dubs Qualifier will compete for $500 ($250 to first, $150 to second, $100 to third). Teams will be determined as listed below:
Third place finisher picks from the sixth through eighth place finishers
Then the fourth place finisher picks
The fifth place finisher gets the dregs
*Ranking system TBD, we are currently leaning towards using NT Points to rank the players. Therefore, the four MPO & FPO players with the most NT points would automatically qualify for the Dubs. Everyone else would be able to compete for the spots on the third place team.
